I, John T. Crow of the County of Dyer and State of Tennessee, .... of the sum of one Dollar to me in hand paid, the other considering ...after mentioned have this day bargained and sold to J. F. Childs...described property to wit;

My growing crop of six acres of Cotton ... the place where I now reside and known as Widow Pate's Farm in .... Civil District of Dyer County, Tenn. To have and to hold all the above property to his heirs and assigns forever (in trust) for the following purposes;

I am indebted to Webb....promissory note of January 1st 1868 due one day after date, for the sum of $68.50, Sixty Eight 50/100 Dollars.... The before mentioned debts are not paid off, by delivering to said Child one bale of Cotton weighing 500 Lbs said Child agrees to pay 20 cts per pound on satisfactorily arranged by the last the 20th day of November ... my said Trustee is hereby authorized to sell all the above property at public Sale for cash to the highest bidder giving at least ten days notice by advertisement, at the Court House door in the town of Dyersburg, and ... public places in Dyer County, or privately, as he may deem best, he being hereby authorized, if he so desires...any market, he may choose, the before mentioned Cotton and to apply the proceeds of such sale, first to pay expenses of this Trust and then to the payment of the above mentioned debts in the order, as reg... in which they are before mentioned in this Deed and to hold the balance of the proceeds, if any thereby.. order, at the same time I am to keep possession of the before mentioned stock for my said Trustee, until said Deed has to be foreclosed, as before mentioned, and I am to gather the before mentioned and conveyed .... Take all proper care of it and hand and deliver the same to my said Trustee in the town of Dyersburg by ... of November 1868 if possible. And I hereby waive the customary bonding of my said Trustee.

I hereto affixed my hand and seal this 30th day of June 1868.

Know all men by these presents that I, J. T. Crow, have this day .... and sold unto W. M. Watkins for one Dollar & the other consideration ... the following property to wit;

All my legal or equitable interest in the acres of growing cotton now growing on the Widow Pates farm in the ... District ____ of one conveyed by me to J. F. Child by Deed in Trust .. June 1868. Registered in Book O on page 168 and this trust on said cotton is made subject to ....I also sell 8 acres of growing corn on the same tract of land 2 milch cows & calves, one about .... of red color and the other about 4 years old and of grayish colour. One, one year old heifer, ...Stock Hogs all marked as follows. Swallow Fork and ........... in the left Ear & Cross & un.... ear. But he above sale and transfer is made for the following uses & trusts and none other ..... to Francis & Watkins by note dated 28 July 1868 payable at one day for $182.32 and is ....by a/c made the present year for $55.68 and I am desirous of making sure the payment of said debts ..... I pay or cause to be paid said debts on or before the 1st January 1869, then this deed in trust to be void...the expenses of this trust are unpaid, then the said Watkins, my Trustee is hereby authorized to ...surplus from J. F. Child in the Cotton or in case I relieve The Cotton of that incumbrance then... Cotton & sell the same & the other property at private sale for cash & pay off the expenses of this ......& interest & the balance to me or my order. I am to gather said crop and house the same & also take ....but nothing in this trust is to prevent him from taking possession of said property at anytime... be of opinion that it should be necessary in order to carry out the p...... of this trust, this 24th July 1868.
