    • Obituary:

      DeRIDDER, LA. - Amanda Lucille Humble Bumgardner, born May 24, 1942, in Merryville, La., passed away Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

      A Requiem Eucharist will be celebrated at St. Luke's Episcopal Church of Baton Rouge at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003. The Right Rev. Charles Jenkins III, Bishop of the Diocese of Louisiana will officiate, with the assistance of the Rev. Brian Burgess, curate of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and the Rev. Cannon Brien Koehler, rector of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Visitation will precede the service at 5 p.m. in Pope Hall on the campus of St. Luke's.

      A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003. at Merryville United Methodist Church in Merryville, La. The Rev. Steve Bush will officiate. Interment will be at the Merryville Cemetery in Merryville.

      In preparation for her transition, Many requested that in lieu of floral or other bequeaths, expressions of bereavement be made to the Merryville United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 292, Merryville, La., 70653 or the Wesley United Methodist Church of Marshall, 106 E. Martindale, Marshall, 75672.

      Mandy asks the people who mourn her to simply do a random act of kindness for someone else.

      Mandy was preceded in death by her father, James Ingia "Jimmy" Humble of Merryville, La.

      Surviving family members include her mother, Lucille Fuller Humble of Merryville, La.; her brother, Jordan Fuller Humble of Kent, Wash.; her sisters, Mary Humble Gibson of Fisher, La., Ingia Humble Parish of Marshall, and Renee Humble Myers of Merryville, La.; seven nieces and nephews, David Jordan "Bubba" Irvine of Marshall, Nicole Gibson Brien of Metairie, La., Joshua H. Gibson of Baton Rouge, La., Jordan Myers LaVergne of Lafayette, La., Frind James Hardy Myers of Cape May, N.J.; Jim Bridger Humble of Billings, Mont. and Elizabeth Humble DeGroot of Tulsa, Okla.

      Pallbearers will be Jordan Humble, Keith Gibson, Hardy Myers, Bubba Irvine, Shane Brien, Joshua Bigson, Jace LaVergne, Frind Myers, Jim Humble and Michael DeGroot.

      Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Edmon, Mike Kilpatrick, Ryan Kilpatrick, David Pitts, Paul Waguespack and Dickie Zabbia.
