    Donald Paul Klinger was born June 14, 1934, in Ashland, Pa., to William Ray Klinger and Edna Grace Markel.

    Donald entered the United States Air Force on Feb. 15, 1954, and served with honor and distinction as a helicopter crew chief while holding the rank of airman first class. He received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Donald began a career with the San Angelo Police Department on Oct. 1, 1957 and served through Jan. 15, 1984, having risen to the rank of patrol sergeant. Formal studies included the Institute of Applied Science of Finger Print and Photography as well as earning an advanced law enforcement certificate. He met and married the love of his life, Barbara Ann Calvert on Dec. 14, 1957, at 7:30 p.m. at the First Christian Church in San Angelo.

    Don loved his sons and grandchildren to a passion. He died in his loving wife's arms, after a day of love, sharing and companionship.

    Preceding Don in death were his father, William Ray Klinger (April 21, 1963);mother, Edna Grace Markel (June 10, 1944); brother, Charles L. Klinger (October 1986); and brother, Robert William Klinger (November 1985). Don is survived by his wife, Barbara Klinger of Las Vegas; son, Dr. Donald Ray Klinger of Fort Worth, wife, Linda, grandchildren, Jeremy and Kayla; son, Kenneth Clyde Klinger of Valdez, Alaska, wife, Amy, and soon-to-arrive grandson; and son, David Paul Klinger of San Diego, with his son, David Joseph Klinger. We believe that the "good" that a man does never dies, but lives on in the lives of those he touched. God Speed.

    Service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, in Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

    Funeral Services for Barbara Ann Klinger, age 69, will be held 12:00 p.m.,Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel, San Angelo, Texas followed by a short graveside service at Lawnhaven Cemetery also in San Angelo. Local arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

    Barbara Ann Klinger was born September 29, 1939 in Wickett, Texas to Clyde "Cactus" Redmond Calvert and Ruby Othell (Carwile) Calvert and passed away Friday, May 22, 2009 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Enid, Oklahoma.

    Barbara attended school in Fort Worth, Texas and graduated from high school in McCamey, Texas. She obtained her LVN accreditation in Texas. She married Donald Paul Klinger on December 14, 1957 in San Angelo, Texas. They were blessed with three boys. Barbara worked as an LVN for 14 years and then worked as the Business Office Manager for Angelo Clinic Association for 25 years. She moved to Nevada
    where she worked for Spectrasonics as a warehouse manager for 12 years.

    She is survived by her three sons, Dr. Don Klinger and wife Linda of Fairview, Oklahoma, Kenny Klinger and wife Amy of Round Rock, Texas and David Klinger of Las Vegas, Nevada; and four grandchildren, Jeremy Klinger and Kayla Klinger, Mason Klinger and Garrett Klinger.

    Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, husband; two sisters, Peggy and Pearl; and one brother, William "Bill" Calvert.

    Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society with Fairview Funeral Home acting as custodian. Special appreciation to Dr. Dexeus and the many dedicated nurses and staff who cared for her at Fairview and Enid.

    Mrs. Othel C. Abshire, passed away Thursday, October 2, in California.

    Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Calvin Gray officiating.

    Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery.

    Pallbearers were Sherman Hulsey, Ed Turner, Edgar Bonosky, B. A. Eply, Dalton Cook and Marvin huey.

    She was a former resident of Comanche, where she was born on January 2, 1914. She had been a resident of California the past 25 years.

    Survivors include her husband, Frank Abshire, one son, Willie Ray Calbert, Orange, Calif.; three daughters, Barbara Kilinger, San Angelo; Pearl Calbert, Los Angeles; and Peggy Walters, Bay City; father, John Carwile of Gustine; mother, Virgie Sims; one brother, Dean Carwile, Odessa; two sisters, Mrs. Gillene Smith, Minneapolis, Minn.; and Mrs. D. Campbell, Odessa; 12 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
