    Norman Dean Greer, 61, died Friday, June 9, 2017, at UTMB-Galveston Medical Center.

    Norman was born Wednesday, September 14, 1955 in Navasota to Norman Monroe and Mattie Martha Jurdan Greer. He grew up in Peach Creek and enjoyed hunting fishing and anything else outdoors. He also enjoyed motorcycles. Norman was preceded in death by his parents and a son, James Monroe Greer.

    Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Greer of Willis; daughters, Kim Allen and husband Douglas of Conroe, Lora Mathis of Weimar and Candy Miller and significant other, James Johnson of Oklahoma; brother, Donald Ray Greer and wife Shelley of College Station; grandchildren, Jordan Mathis, Izahah and Harmony Carbajac, Jamie, Megan and Cheyenne Gent, Jonathan and Jasmine Allen and Benjamin; two great grandchildren, Cody Lawrenz and Loria Waltz along with 18 nieces and nephews.

    Norman Monroe Greer

    NAVASOTA - Services for Norman Monroe Greer, 69, of Peach Creek will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Nobles Funeral Chapel.

    The Rev. Glenn Cooksey, assistant pastor of Millican Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be at Peach Creek Cemetery.

    Mr. Greer died Saturday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center of natural causes.

    Born in Millican, he was a retired roofing contractor and a member of the Baptist faith.

    Mr. Greer served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Lorena Greer; and a grandson, James Monroe Greer.

    He is survived by his wife, Mattie Martha Greer of Peach Creek; two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Shelley Greer of College Station and Norman and Bonnie Greer of Keith; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Glenn and Bea Greer of Houston, Dean Greer of Houston, Sidney and Nelda Greer of Bryan and Kenneth and Annette Greer of College Station; five sisters, Audrey Riener of N. Little Rock, Ark., Lillian Russell of Austin, Mildred Wade of Bryan, Barbara Poorman of Coshbeton, Ohio and Bertha and Bill Hall of Bryan; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; and other relatives.

    NAVASOTA - Services for Mattie M. Greer, 71, of Peach Creek, Texas, are set for 3 p.m. Monday at Nobles. Funeral Chapel in Navasota.

    The Rev. Glenn Cooksey of Millican Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Peach Creek Cemetery.

    Visitation will be from noon until 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

    Mrs. Greer died Saturday morning at her home.

    She was born in Bryan, worked for Alenco and was a member of Millican Baptist Church.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Monroe Greer.

    Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald Ray and Shelly Greer of Peach Creek and Norman Dean and Bonnie Greer of Keith, Texas; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Avis and Terrell Crenshaw of Peach Creek and Bell Bowen of Houston; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.
