    Clarion Burnell "Joe" Hagen, Sr., 85, died peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving wife and children on November 23, 2009 at 8:05 pm. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Magnolia Baptist Church in Ragley with Pastor Mike Sanford officiating. Burial will be at Magnolia Baptist cemetery. The Pallbearers will be the grandsons. Clarion's favorite songs will be sung by Dr. Margaret Byrd and Mrs. Marie Coleman.

    Visitation will be from 5:00 - 9:00 pm, Friday, November 27, 2009 at Magnolia Baptist Church.

    Clarion was born March 19, 1924 in Worth County, Iowa to Edwin K. Hagen and Hilda Troe Hagen. He was very proud of his Norwegian heritage. His Great grandparents were immigrants from Norway. He has 2 surviving sisters and 3 brothers: Iva Willert of Lake Mills, Iowa, Marilyn Stevens of St. Paul, MN, Lyle Hagen and wife Mary Lou of Cedar Falls, Iowa, David Hagen and wife Helen of Charles City, Iowa, and Ervin Hagen and wife Linda of Osage, Iowa

    Clarion was a veteran of the Army and transferred to the Air Force. While stationed at the Lake Charles Air Force Base, he met his future wife, Ruby Hebert Hagen, in Lake Charles and were married for 63 years. They were blessed with 8 children: Clarion Hagen, Jr. (Butch), Sulphur, Larry Hagen and wife Carol of Miles City, Gary Hagen (deceased), surviving wife Frances Hagen of Ragley, Frank Hagen and wife Shirley of Moss Bluff, Sandy Byrd and husband Andy of Houston, TX, Paul Hagen of Ragley, Terry Hagen and wife Molly of Moss Bluff, and Diana Hagen of Ragley; 14 Grand children, (2 deceased) and 17 Great Grand children.

    Clarion began his career working with his father in-law in construction. He continued working as a contractor in home construction for 40 years.

    He was an active member of Magnolia Baptist Church and the Senior Adult Sunday School class. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and working in the yard. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and looked forward to a traditional Sunday dinner followed by playing card games with his loved ones.

    Ruby Marie Hebert Hagen, 85, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.

    She was a native of Lake Charles and a resident of Ragley. Ruby was an active member of Magnolia Baptist Church. She loved to cook, read and spending time with her family.

    Survivors include four sons, Clarion "Butch" Hagen, Jr. of Sulphur, Frank Hagen and wife, Shirley of Moss Bluff, Paul Hagen of Ragley and Terry Hagen and wife, Molly of Moss Bluff; two daughters, Diana Hagen of Ragley and Sandy Byrd and husband, Andy of Houston, TX; one sister, Frankie Moreau of Lake Charles; 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and a great great grandchild.

    She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Clarion Burnell Hagen, Sr.; her parents, Frank and Mathilda Hebert; two sons, Larry Hagen and Gary Hagen, Sr.; two brothers, David Hebert and Herman Hebert; and one sister, Nora Hebert Smith.

    Her funeral will be at 1p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley. Visitation is from 3p.m. to 7p.m. Monday and from 10a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.

    Funeral services for Mrs. Frank (Mathilda) Hebert, 81, of 210 Louie St. will be at 2 p.m. today, March 26, in Hixson Funeral Home Chapel.

    The Rev. Bill Oakley of Trinity Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Hebert Cemetery in Iowa.

    Mrs. Hebert died at 7:40 p.m. Thursday in a local nursing home.

    She was born in Hecker and had lived in Lake Charles most of her life. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was a member of the LeBleu family, Calcasieu's first settlers.

    Survivors are her husband; two sons, David and Herman Hebert, both of Lake Charles; three daughters, Mrs. L. C. (Nora) Smith of Vidalla, Ga., Mrs. C. D. (Ruby) Hagen of Ragley and Mrs. Aaron (Frankie) Moreau of Lake Charles; one sister, Mrs. Lily Leger of Oberlin; 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

    Rites Held Sunday For Mrs. Johnice

    Funeral services for Mrs. Adeline LeBleu Johnice, 74, who died Sunday night at her home, 1531 Cessford street, were held at St. Hubert's chapel on Nichols street at 10 o'clock Monday morning, with the Rev. George A. Bodin, assistant pastor of the Church of the Immaculate Conception, officiating. Burial was in the Chloe cemetery with the Hixson funeral home in charge.

    Mrs. Johnice was found dead at 6 a.m. Sunday, having expired in her sleep during the night.

    Survivors are her husband, Donloe Johnice, one son, John A. Johnice, Lake Charles, three daughters, Mrs. Frank Hebert and Mrs. Mel Peloquin, Lake Charles, and Mrs. Lillie Leger of Oberlin; two brothers, Arsan LeBleu and Volsan LeBleu, Lake Charles, and a sister, Mrs. Catherine Farque, Lake Charles.
