    Frank Sholte

    BIG SPRING - Frank G. Sholte, 61, died Wednesday at a Shreveport, La., hospital.

    Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Rosewood Chapel with Claude Craven officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olive Memorial Park.

    He was born in Abilene. He was a Baptist and a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and was a railroad engineer until his retirement in 1985.

    Surviors include two sons, Dr. Glenn Sholte and David Sholte, both of Shreveport, La; and a cousin, Lenora Haro of Big Spring.

    Frank Sholte

    BIG SPRING - Frank G. Sholte, 61, of Big Spring died Wednesday in Highland Hospital in Shreveport, La.

    Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Nalley-Pickle and Welch Rosewood Chapel with burial in Mount Olive Memorial Park.

    Sholte was born July 1, 1925, in Abilene. He was an engineer for the railroad, retiring in 1985. He had been a lifelong resident of Big Spring and was a Baptist. He was a member of the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.

    Survivors include two sons, Dr. Glen Sholte and David Sholte, both of Shreveport, La.; and one cousin.

    Carolyn Birdwell Middleton

    SHREVEPORT, LA - Services for Mrs. Carolyn Birdwell Middleton, 66, will be held at 4 p.m., Friday, May 6, 1994 at Rose-Neath's Bossier Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Billy Pierce, pastor of Cypress Baptist Church. Burial will be in Rose-Neath Cemetery.

    Mrs. Middleton died Friday, April 29, 1994 at Schumpert Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born in Benton, La. and was a resident of Shreveport. Mrs. Middleton was a housewife and a Baptist.

    Shew as preceded in death by her son, George Warrick Sholte.

    She is survived by her husband, Major Charles Middleton, U.S.A.F. Retired, of Shreveport, La.; three sons, Dr. F. Glenn Sholte and wife Catherine of Shreveport, David A. Sholte of Shreveport and Robert L. Middleton of Shreveport; one step-daughter, Margaret Ortigo and husband, William of Kolin, La.; one grandson, Mark Glenn Sholte; two step-grandchildren, Rachel Ortigo and John Ortigo.

    Pallbearers will be Dr. Robert Taylor, Terry Quarles, Richard Hunter, Mickey Capuano, Tommy Peters and William Ortigo.

    Final Rites Today For W. R. Birdwell

    Funeral services for Warrie R. Birdwell, 56, of 425 Monroe St., Bossier City, a dispatcher for the Arkansas Louisiana Gas Co., who died at 6 p.m. Saturday in a local hospital after a brief illness, were held at 2 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Bossier City.

    Dr. W. L. Sewell, pastor of the church, assisted by the Rev. M. R. Perkins, pastor of the Northside Baptist Church in Bossier City, conducted the rites. Interment was in the Red River Cemetery near Benton under direction of Wellman's Funeral Home.

    Active pallbearers were Robert H Johnston Sr., William P. McInnis, J. C. Fullilove, J. D. Fenton, Charles H. Ray and Sam Keeth.

    Honorary pallbearers were employes of the Arkansas Louisiana Gas Co., Arkansas Fuel Oil Corp., Arkansas Pipeline Corp., and members of the Four Square Bible Class of Bossier City.

    Mr. Birdwell is survived by his widow, Mrs. Gladys Bumgardner Birdwell; two daughters, Mrs. Gwen Jeffrey, Washington, D.C., and Mrs. Carolyn Sholte, Big Spring, Tex.; two sons, John R. Birdwell, Shreveport, and Warrie R. Birdwell Jr., Mission, Tex.; his mother, Mrs. Louise Jeter Birdwell, Bossier City; two sisters, Sister Mary Fidelis of Marksville and Mrs. W. M. White, Dallas, Tex.; three brothers, J. N. Birdwell, Bossier City, T. M. Birdwell, New Orleans and M. J. Birdwell, Haynesville, and nine grandchildren.

    Warrie R. Birdwell, 56, of 425 Monroe St., Bossier City, died at 6 P.M. yesterday in a local hospital after a short illness.

    A lifelong resident of Bossier Parish, he was employed as a dispatcher for the Arkansas Louisiana Gas Co. at the time of his death. He had been with that company for 27 years.

    Mr. Birdwell was a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Bossier City, the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the disabled American Veterans.

    He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Gladys Bumgardner Birdwell; two daughters, Mrs. Gwen Jeffrey, Washington, D.C., and Mrs. Carolyn Sholte, Big Springs, Tex.; two sons, John R.     Funeral arrangements, which are being handled by Wellman's Funeral Home, are incomplete pending arrival of relatives.

    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Bossier City Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at the Lay Cemetery near Benton.
