    Doris Grabow Chervenka, 95 of Brenham, went to be with her Saviour Jesus on January 8, 2012 at Scott & White Hospital Brenham.

    She was born February 2, 1916 in Caldwell, Texas the second child of Frank B. and Lydia (Schiller) Drgac. She attended Texas Women's College. On June 23, 1940, she married John Fred Grabow. He preceded her in death September 5, 1960. Then on October 7, 1979, she married Milton Chervenka. He also preceded her in death June 21, 1998. During World War II, she worked at Bryan Army Airfield. She was a very good homemaker. She was talented, playing the trombone and the piano. She played the trombone at the Caldwell Czech Moravian Brethren Church and at an all girls' orchestra at Camp Waldemar. Doris enjoyed reading the Bible, camping, fishing, needle work, gardening and flower arranging. She had a kind and gentle, but yet strong spirit.

    She attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church since 1946, where she was a member of the Thursday Morning Circle, previously served in Altar Guild and previously sang alto in the choir. She was also a former member of the Brenham Garden Club.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands John Grabow and Milton Chervenka, and brother Franklin Drgac, sisters-in-law Annie Mae Grabow Gouldson, Emma Grabow Appel, and Lenora Grabow Yarberry and brother-in-law Willie Grabow.

    Her loving family includes: children, Lydia Grabow McCroskey and husband John McCroskey of Brenham, Bonnie Grabow Sutton and husband Rob Sutton III of The Woodlands, Frederick John Grabow and wife Cheryl Grabow of Jacksonville, Texas, Becky Grabow Pool and husband Howard Pool of Lexington, Texas; step-daughter, Vivian Chervenka Leedy of Brenham; grandchildren, Robert Sutton IV, Geoffrey Sutton, Johnny Grabow, Robert (Bobby) Grabow and wife Brandi, Colbert (Colby) Grabow, Suzanne Turner and spouse Joe Olivares, William Turner and fiance Lynde Roesler, Emily Turner and fiance Eric Roegner; step-grandson, Austin Leedy; great grandchildren, Braeden Grabow, Micah Grabow; step-great grandchildren, Kirsten Olivares, Payton Roegner ; sister, Gerry Siptak; brother, Colbert Drgac; nieces, Pam Siptak Smith, Diane Grabow Adams, Dani Drgac DeChiara; nephew, Jay Drgac.

    Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, January 10th from 6 to 8 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel.

    Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 11th at 2 p.m. in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Rev. Phil Fenton officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

    Memorials may be given to St. Paul's Lutheran Church Radio Ministry Fund.
