Mr. Vernon E. Crnkovic, Sr., 64, of Las Cruces, NM died Friday, Nov. 21 in Las Cruces, NM. He was a former resident of Zwolle.

Mr. Crnkovic retired from the White Sands Missile Range.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25 at Clyde Cemetery in Zwolle.

Survivors include his father, Joseph Paul Crnkovic of Zwolle; his widow, Gloria Hairston Crnkovic of Las Cruces, NM; four sons, Vernon Eugene Crnkovic and wife. Dawn of Shawnee, Okla., Paul Crnkovic and wife, Elsa of San Antonio, Texas, Darrell Crnkovic and wife, Tonya of Jacksboro, Texas and Michael Crnkovic and wife Kenna of Sante, Texas; three daughters, Karen Brady and husband, Ron of Canton, Conn. and Nanette Crnkovic and Elaine Crnkovic of Las Cruces, NM.; 10 grandchildren; and many friends. Mr. Crnkovic was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Procell Crnkovic and one son, John Crnkovic.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Oro Grande Baptist Church, Oro Grande, NM 88342

Gloria Elaine Crnkovic went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 12, 2017. Gloria lived a long and full life, dedicating every moment to teaching and sharing the Gospel of Christ to those who were privileged to know her. She leaves a legacy of a loving family that has followed her example of living for the Lord. Gloria is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Eugene Crnkovic, Sr. and their son, John. She is survived by her children, Vernon Eugene Crnkovic, Jr. and wife Dawn, Paul Crnkovic and wife Elsa, Karen Brady and husband Ron, Darrell Crnkovic and wife Jamie, Michael Crnkovic and wife Kendra, Nanette Crnkovic and Elaine Crnkovic, as well as 12 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.

Mr. Joseph Paul Crnkovic, 93, was born March 18, 1907, in Starilaz, Yugoslavia. He died Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, at Schumpert Medical Center. He immigrated to the U. S. in 1910, at the age of three years, settling with his parents in Sabine Parish.

Mr. Crnkovic was self educated. He was a carpenter and painter, a farmer, a barber, an early auto mechanic, and a musician. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zwolle. He was especially devoted to the Blessed Mother. He firmly believed in the sanctity of life, and had a great respect for all living things.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 16, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with interment following at St. Joseph Cemetery. Father David Richter officiated.

Survivors include seven grandchildren, Elaine Crnkovic, Nanette Crnkovic, Karen Crnkovic Brady, Vernon Crnkovic Jr., Paul Crnkovic, Darrell Crnkovic, and Michael Crnkovic; a daughter-in-law, Gloria Crnkovic; 11 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many friends.

Mr. Crnkovic was preceded in death by his parents, Bartol and Marija (Mary) Crnkovic; wife, Mary Procell; seven brothers, Tony, Stephen, Charlie, Alphonse, Willie, Rudolph, and Angel; three sisters, Tonka, Catherine, and Angeline; and one son, Vernon Crnkovic.
