    John Robert Edwards, born June 7, 1947 in Austin, TX died December 3, 2010 of complications from cancer. He is survived by his wife Irana, and daughters Jennifer Burns, Sofia, Melissa Grace, and son Robert John, granddaughters, Lexie and Lilly, his brother Jim and first wife Suzanne Edwards.

    A graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School, University of Houston student, and Vietnam War Veteran, Johns' professional life started in Purchasing with Brown and Root and continued till his death while working as Procurement Director for McDermott Asia/Pacific, based in The Republic of Singapore. John traveled worldwide seeing, Times Red, and Tennamon Squares, The Forbidden City and many places that he said he never thought he would see being a Cold War child and a UT Longhorn fan.

    John was a member of United Methodist Church and taught Sunday school and Disciples classes. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, sage advice and support in addition to his love for his family

    A celebration of life will be held for John Thursday, December 9, at 12:30 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home located at 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas.

    Funeral for B. C. Edwards, 64, of Houston will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Gibson Funeral Home in Lufkin. Burial will be in Gann Cemetery.

    He died Wednesday in a Trinity hospital.

    Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nettie Edwards of Houston; three sons, Dr. Billy C. Edwards, John Robert Edwards, and Jim Griffiths, all of Houston; a sister, Mrs. B. C. Gann of Trinity; a brother, R. L. Edwards of Austin; and two grandchildren.

    WARFIELD - John Griffith Warfield, 70, of 1314 Tulane, died Tuesday morning in a local hospital. He was a native of Memphis, Tenn., and had lived in Houston for the past 18 years. He was one of the organizers of the Rosewood Park Cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ruth Warfield; three daughters, Mrs. B.C. Edwards, Misses Sybil and Lena Mae Warfield all of Houston; two sons, George Warfield of Houston and Ven Warfield of Waco; brother, H.B. Warfield of Houston. Services held at 3 p.m. Tuesday from the Folge-West Chapel with Rev. J.W.E. Airey, pastor of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial in Rosewood Park Cemetery. Active pallbearers: B.C. Edwards, who is a son-in-law, Kenneth, Edward and Horace Warfield, L.C. Ebling, who are nephews, and Grover Baggett. The family requests friends to please omit flowers. Fogle-West Company directing.
