    Clovis Bill Vidrine of Groves passed away October 3, 2015 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. He was born in Ville Platte, Louisiana, on December 5, 1923. His parents were Clovis Vidrine Sr. and Isabel Vidrine Hart. He graduated from Ville Platte High School in 1940. He then came to Port Arthur looking for a job at one of the local refineries. He met and married the love of his life, Joyce Champagne, on September 27, 1942. He went into the army on January 30, 1943. He served his country for 3 years in the European Conflict, then 5 months in the Phillipines. He was discharged on January 28, 1946, and saw his baby girl of one year for the first time. He then got a job at Texaco and worked there for 37 years. He retired October 2, 1982. He is preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Bill Hart; his brother, James and wife Wilda Vidrine; and his loving wife of 63 1/2 years, Joyce. Funeral services for Mr. Vidrine will be Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Melancon's Funeral Home in Nederland, with Reverend J.C. Coon officiating. Interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. A gathering of the family and friends will be from 12 noon until services time at 2 p.m. on Tuesday. He leaves behind 3 children: Nanette and Mike Gans of Crystal Beach, Susan and Greg McCord of Peoria, Arizona, and Micah and Nancy Vidrine of Cedar Park, Texas. Grandchildren: Derek and Kristen Gans of Port Arthur, Texas, Jennifer and Jimmy Hand of Groves, Tamara Webster of Arizona, Adam McCord of Phoenix, Arizona, and Ayla McCord of Peoria, Arizona, Morgan Vidrine and Mason Vidrine of Cedar Park, Texas, and 10 great-grandchildren.

    Joyce Vidrine, 81, of Groves passed away Sunday, February 12, 2006 at her residence in Groves.

    Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at Broussard's in Nederland with Rev. Don Golasinski officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday with a Christian Vigil to be held at 6 PM at the mortuary.

    Mrs. Vidrine was a native and life long resident of Port Arthur and Groves area. She was a homemaker and a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves.

    Mrs. Vidrine was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Leah Champagne. She is survived by her husband, Clovis of Groves; two daughters, Nanette Gans and husband Mike of Crystal Beach, and Susan McCord and husband Greg of Tacoma, Washington; one son Micha Vidrine and wife Nancy of Cedar Park; seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

    GROVES - Joseph "Eddy" Champagne, 87, of Groves died Monday at St. Mary Hospital.

    He was born in Erath, La., and was a Port Arthur-Groves area resident since 1912. He was a retired welder boilermaker with Chevron. He was a member of the AFL-CIO and Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers Local 4-23.

    Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. A wake is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

    Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Vidrine of Groves; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

    GROVES - Leah Champagne, 82, of 3541 Lay Ave. died at 4:35 p.m. Monday at Doctors Hospital.

    She was born in Rayne, La., and was a Port Arthur-Groves area resident for 71 years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

    Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church with the Rev. Martin Enderle officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A wake will be at 6 p.m. today at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home.

    Survivors include her husband, Joseph Eddy; a daughter, Joyce Vidrine of Groves; a brother, Claude Talbot of Bridge City; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
