    Tracy Hendrix

    BOSSIER CITY - Services for Tracy Hendrix, 25, of Bossier City, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, in Rose-Neath's Bossier Chapel. Mr. Steve Blaubaugh will officiate, assisted by Mr. Leonard Hawks. Burial will be in Hill Crest Memorial Park.

    Mr. Hendrix, a native of Shreveport, died suddenly Saturday, Nov. 8, 1986, in South Cameron Memorial Hospital following a hunting accident. He was a lifelong resident of Bossier City. He was a self-employed building contractor, a member of the Home Builders' Association, and a 1980 graduate of Airline High School.

    Survivors include his wife, Ginger Gibbs Hendrix; his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Hendrix; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. D.C. Davis; his paternal grandmother, Myrtle Hendrix; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald E. Gibbs; one son, Zackary Edward Hendrix; one daughter, Whitney Christine Hendrix; one brother, Marty Hendrix; one sister, Mrs. Jamie H. Westerman; all of Bossier City; two nieces; and two nephews.

    Pallbearers will be Mike Dooley, Jerry Kesterson, Bruce Corley, Coleman Loyd, Donnie Leflett, Randy Johnson, Greg Avery, and Ricky Avery.

    Ginger Gibbs Bigby

    A service celebrating the life of Ginger Gibbs Bigby, 63, of Bossier City, Louisiana will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church, 3200 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held beginning at 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Officiating the service will be Reverend Matt Rawle.

    Ginger was born February 27, 1960, in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Gerald and Barbara Gibbs and passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on Friday, July 28, 2023.

    As part of an Air Force family, Ginger spent her youth in New York, Georgia, and Louisiana. She was a 1978 graduate of Airline High School and earned her registered nursing degree from Northwestern State in 1991. A warm, caring, and skilled operating room nurse for 25 years, Ginger took great pride in her service to others. She never met a stranger and greeted everyone with her radiant smile and sparkling eyes. Nothing delighted Ginger more than hosting family and friends for a celebration. Affectionately known as "Junie" by her grandchildren, she could often be found in the kitchen surrounded by laughter, music, and her beloved weenie dogs. Her delicious food, elegant style, and jovial spirit made her easy to love. She was happiest when surrounded by family, reminiscing and laughing over endless stories from a life well lived. She will be greatly missed.

    Ginger is preceded in death by her parents; sister; Sandy Gibbs; and former husband, Tracy Hendrix. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Walter O. Bigby, Jr; sister, Gail Russell and husband, Tom; children; Whitney Hendrix, Zachary Hendrix, and Hayden Bigby and wife, Brittany; grandchildren; Paxton, Kassidy, and Sadie along with several nieces and nephews.

    The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff of Amedisys Hospice Care, especially Christy, Amanda, and Betty for all the compassion and care they showed to Ginger and her loved ones.

    The family suggests that memorials may be made to any charity of your choice.

    Retired SMSgt Gerald Edward Gibbs

    BOSSIER CITY, LA - Services for Retired SMSgt Gerald Edward Gibbs, 62, will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, February 15, 1999 at Rose-Neath's Bossier Chapel. Officiating will be Bill Alley and Chaplain at Barksdale Air Force Base. Burial will be in Rose-Neath Cemetery with full military honors.

    SMSgt Gibbs passed away Friday, February 12, 1999 after a lengthy illness. "Gomer" proudly served his country for over 25 years as a Boom Operator in the USAF Reserves. He is a veteran of the Vietnam and Gulf Wars, flying over 250 combat missions and receiving numerous medals throughout his career in the military. From 1978 to 1985, he was owner operator of three Pap-Paws Fried Chicken Stores in the Bossier Shreveport area. A lover of airplanes, he also earned his private pilot licenses and became a flight instructor. He was a kind and generous man always putting the needs of others before himself. He will be greatly missed by all his friends and relatives.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Gibbs; brother, Garnett Gibbs; sister, Judy Gibbs Wiggins; and son-in-law, Tracy Edward Hendrix.

    He leaves behind his devoted wife of 41 years, Barbara McBride Gibbs; three daughters, Gail Russell and husband, Tom of West Memphis, AK, Ginger Bigby and husband, Walt of Bossier City, LA, Sandra Hostman and husband, Chuck; seven grandchildren; brother, Joseph Gibbs and wife, Linda.     BOSSIER CITY, LA - Services for Barbara Ruth McBride Gibbs will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2014 at Rose-Neath's Bossier Chapel. Officiating will be Bro. Cleveland Cyrus. Interment will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service on Friday from 11:30 a.m. until service time.

    Barbara, 72, passed away June 25, 2014 in Bossier City, LA. She was born November 18, 1941, Lake Charles, LA. She was married 42 years to the love of her life, Gerald Edward Gibbs.

    Barbara was the matriarch and solid rock of her family. She was at her best whipping up one of her mother's famous South Louisiana recipes, making enough to feed a small army. Spending time with family was one of her favorite past times. She was affectionately known as Momo not only to her grandchildren, but to many others who respected her.

    Barbara and her husband Gerald owned Pap-Paw's Fried Chicken. She worked as a property manager for Landmark Realty for many years. She enjoyed her bowling league and once bowled a perfect game. Her greatest accomplishment was being a mother and "Momo" to many.

    She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Edward Gibbs, her two sisters, Mae Dell Coleman and husband Cole, Brenda Gail McBride, son-in-law, Tracy Edward Hendrix and her parents, Thomas Joseph McBride and Leora LeBleu McBride.

    She is survived by her three daughters, Gail Lynn Russell and husband Tom, Ginger G. Bigby and husband Walter, and Sandy D. Gibbs and Kevin Cox; her grandchildren, Jennifer Cyrus Spivey and husband Anthony, Whitney Hendrix Peters and husband Nolan, Jeffrey Bryan Gibbs, Zachary Edward Hendrix and wife Kylie, Jarrett Brent Gibbs and wife Natsumi, Tabitha Nicole Black, Hayden Oliver Bigby, Tommy Russell and wife Jill, and Travis Russell and wife Gina; brothers, Tommy McBride and wife Pat, Mike McBride and wife Katie, and brother-in-law, Joseph Gibbs and wife Linda. She also had 15 great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

    Her quick wit and great sense of humor will be missed by all.

    A special thank you to Robyn Watkins, Valerie, and her many long loved friends from Brownlee Road and the Birthday Club.

    Honoring Barbara as pallbearers will be Craig McBride, Anthony Spivey, Bryan Gibbs, Zachary Hendrix, Hayden Bigby, and Breydon Johns.
