    Sarah Hoffpauir, 73, of Winnie died September 17, 2005 at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.

    Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at First Baptist Church of Stowell, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Broussard's, 134 W. Buccaneer Dr., in Winnie. A gathering of friends and family will be 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.

    A resident of Winnie for 59 years, Sarah was an honor graduate of East Chambers High School where she honored as the Salutatorian of the class of 1949. Sarah was a fifty-year member of First Baptist Church of Stowell and was Church Treasurer for thirty-seven years. Her favorite scripture was Romans 8:38-39.

    She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Floyd Hoffpauir of Winnie; sons, Gary Hoffpauir and his wife Lynda, Jeff Hoffpauir, and Randy Hoffpauir, all of Winnie and James Hoffpauir and his wife Lynn of Russleville, Arkansas; brothers, Floyd Hamous of Houston and Lloyd Hamous of Estes Park, Colorado; daughter-in-law, Annie Finn of Winnie; grandchildren, Ken Hoffpauir and his wife Shelly, Rama Hoffpauir, Jessica Hoffpauir, Cole Hoffpauir, and Royce Spencer.

    In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sarah Hoffpauir Memorial Fund of First Baptist Church of Stowell, P.O. Box 70, Stowell, Texas 77661.

    WINNIE-STOWELL (Sp) - Douglas Hoffpauir, 74, died Sunday, December 30th, 1979, in the Medical Center of Winnie. He was born in Morse, La, and lived in Winnie 40 years.

    Rosary was Sunday night in the Broussard Mortuary Chapel and Mass was a 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 1, 1980, with the Rev. William Bosworth officiating. Burial was at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Broussard's Mortuary of Winnie. Pallbearers were: William Lulue, Lloyd Lulue, Roy Stewart, Junior Hoffpauir, Matthew Sonnier, and Evelon Sonnier.

    Survivors include his wife, Zula Hoffpauir; five sons, Emory Hoffpauir of Fort Stockton, Texas, Floyd Hoffpauir, David Hoffpauir, Virgil Hoffpauir, and L.D. Hoffpauir, all of Winnie; three sisters, Esia Sparks, Houston, Evely LaBouf of Caplan, Louisiana, and Annie Herron of Highlands, Texas; one brother, Gilbert Hoffpauir, Winnie; eighteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

    ALCE CLEMENT DIES

    Alce Clement, 67, a resident of Stowell for 23 years and a native of Rayne, La, died Saturday afternoon in his home after a long illness. He was an employee of the highway department.

    Funeral services were held Monday morning in the St. Louis Catholic Church, of which he was a member, with Father George Rabroker, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Fairview cemetery with Broussard's Mortuary of Beaumont in charge.

    Survivors include his wife, Mathilda Clement, two daughters, Mrs. Douglas Hoffpauir of Winnie and Mrs. Joe Craft of Stowell; three brothers, Leo, Beauregard and Louis Clement all of Rayne; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Hebert of Abbeville, and Mrs. Otis Nunez of Port Arthur; a step-daughter, Mrs. Emma Smith of Beaumont and his mother, Mrs. Despalie Clement of Rayne.

    Funeral Services Wednesday For Mrs. Felix Doucet

    Mrs. Felix Doucet, the former Eva Istre, 83, died at 1:30 this morning in the Crowley American Legion Hospital following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Doucet was born in Acadia Parish on Sept. 9, 1886 and resided in Morse. She was a Catholic and was a member of the Ladies Altar Society.

    Surviving Mrs. Doucet are: one son, Joseph Doucet of Mermentau; two daughters, Miss Alida Doucet of Morse and Mrs. E.M. Higginbotham of Beaumont, Texas; and one sister, Mrs. Joe Hanks of Lake Charles. She also had 4 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morse with the burial to take place in Istre Cemetery in Mermentau. Father William Ohlenforst will celebrate Mass. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley.
