    Gerald Wendell Nations, born December 14, 1935 at Bark Camp, Missouri, passed from this life on March 29, 2019 at Charleston Health Center in Danville, Kentucky where he received care for the past year due to declining health. He was a member of the CHURCH OF CHRIST and lived most of his life in Kennett, Missouri. He also lived for over twenty-five years near his beloved older brother, JL Nations and his sister-in-law Wanda, both of whom survives him in Lake Wales, Florida. Gerald is the son of the late John Lyman Nations and Maggie Gertrude Walls. He was preceded in death by his wife Frances Mae Simmons and two sisters, Edith Nations Dees Cromeens and Irene Nations Eskra. Surviving are his children Ricky Nations of Hardy, Arkansas, Sherree Nations of Beattyville, Kentucky, G. Marcus Nations of Beattyville, Kentucky, Rita Ornelas of Booneville, Kentucky, Charles Nations of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Jennifer Ashley of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, as well as Patricia Wells Wallace, a niece, whom was reared by Mr. Nations and his wife. He also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren and a large growing host of great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted at Piggott Arkansas Cemetery with Brother Richard Benson of Paragould, Arkansas officiating at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 2, 2019. Newnam Funeral Home of Beattyville, Kentucky and Irby Funeral Home of Piggot, Arkansas are in charge of the arrangements.

    Gerald married Frances Mae Simmons 28 Sep 1953, Kennett, Dunklin County, Missouri, USA. Frances (daughter of Lucas Levi Simmons and Oma Laverne Gattis) was born 23 May 1938, Jackson, Cape Girardeau County, Missouri, USA; died 13 Apr 2017, Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky, USA; was buried 17 Apr 2017, Piggott Memorial Gardens - Piggott, Arkansas, USA.
