    Obituary:

    Services for Fred M. Baxter, 83, of 212 W. Highland, retired rural letter carrier, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Roesch Brothers Funeral Chapel.

    Rev. Willard T. Reece, pastor of the First Christian Church, will officiate, assisted by Rev. Byron Lamun, associate pastor. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

    Mr. Baxter died at 11:20 p.m. Thursday in a local hospital.

    He was born March 1, 1880 at Oologah, Okla., and had lived in Oklahoma practically all of his life.

    He served 33 years and eight months as a rural letter carrier in the Holdenville area. He retired in 1942 and moved to Shawnee in October, 1942.

    After moving to Shawnee he was employed as custodian of the First Presbyterian Church and later as part-time custodian in the First Baptist Church.

    Mr. Baxter was a member of the First Christian Church and was a former member of the Odd Fellows Lodge.

    Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Thelma Baxter, of the home; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Priddy, Nocona, Tex.; Mrs. Amos Williams, Wewoka, and Mrs. Price Azlin, Seminole.

    Bearers will be T. C. Smith, Adrian Gregg, K. R. Wilson, Glenn Friday, Chester McDonald, and W. F. Nicholson.
