    Donald Jerry Arient. Prayers for Donald Jerry Arient, 71, of Braidwood, IL, formerly of Roselle, IL and Brookfield, IL will be held at 9:30 a.m., Monday, March 1, 2010 at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine, IL 60067. Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church, 1201 E. Anderson Drive, Palatine, IL 60074. Father William Dewan will officiate. Interment private. Born September 28, 1938, in Chicago, IL, he died Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at home in hospice care. Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Donald coached Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball for 12 years. He was the former parks and recreation chairman for the city of Brookfield. Most recently he lived at Shadow Lakes in Braidwood. He was an avid fisherman and very active with the Sportsmens Fishing Club. He was active in all of the communities where he had lived. Don was a loving husband and father; and the world's greatest grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Betty Bernice, nee Niederkorn, Arient; children, William "Butch" Dorsch, Mark (Kathy) Arient, Laura (Rich) Wells, Daniel Dorsch, Vicky (Mark) Fink, Peter (Gayle) Arient, Amy Dorsch; grandchildren, Brittany, Lindsay, Jennifer and Matthew Wells, and Michael and Kevin Fink; brothers, Joseph (Lorraine) Arient and James (Phyllis) Arient. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph James and Anna, nee Sterba, Arient. Memorials appreciated for the Joliet Area Community Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL 60431.
