    Charles Dewey Anderson, 75 of Vernon, Texas died on Saturday, December 15, 2018, in Vernon, Texas.

    Graveside services will be Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home. Officiating will be Bill Lowery.

    Charles was born Friday, February 12, 1943 in Fort Worth, Texas; he was the son of the late Dewey Anderson and the late Willie Stephenson Anderson. He married Karon McCuistion on April 27, 1985 in Vernon. He served in the US Marines Corp. Sea Going Marines and Rifleman; two tours in Vietnam, two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. He worked on off shore oil rigs, Vernon State Hospital for 18 years PNA then Tech Assistant for physicians; he also worked in Mexico for eight years building water systems for small villages, also in Nigari and Africa. He enjoyed locating graves for genealogy, woodworking, camping and spoiling his grandchildren. He was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder Day Saints.

    He is survived by his wife Karon Anderson of the home. two daughters, Shelly Ugerette of Gilbert, AZ and Allegra Spinn of Corpus Christi, TX; Four step-daughters Donna Balderas of Vernon, Deborah Williams of Fort Worth, TX., Diane Freeman of Tolleson, AZ., and Callie Jordan of Vernon. Two step-sons Donald Ray Barker of San Antonia , TX., and Thad Allen Emory of Vernon, TX., 23 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren.

    He is preceded in death by a son Charles B. Anderson in 2011.

    Family visitation will be Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 7:00 to 8:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.

    Memorials can be made to American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
