    Carol Gertrude (Barks) Lincoln, Age 63, of Marble Hill, MO, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 16th 2022, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born April 9th 1959, to John "Lowell" and Oma Laverne (Gattis Simmons) Barks in Kennett, MO. For the past 46 years Carol was a loving wife to her husband, Timothy Dwight "Tim" Lincoln, and together they had two daughters, Angela Marie and Jessica Gwen.

    Carol gave her life to Jesus Christ and was baptized in His Name at the age of 18. She faithfully attended Westside Church of Christ in Jackson, MO. She embraced God's Word and enjoyed studying Bible prophecy.

    Being named after her grandmother, Maggie Gertrude (Ramsey) Barks, was an honor for Carol. Throughout her life she worked at Thorngate in Cape, cleaned houses in the Jackson area, and managed her husband's business, Timber-Link Construction. However, her favorite job was being a Homemaker. She created a beautiful home for her family. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, and a dedicated wife, a true "helpmeet", to her husband Tim. Carol enjoyed her grandchildren and attended many of their sporting events.

    From pencil sketches to embroidery, to catchy phrases, scrapbooking, and handmade cards, Carol was always blessing others with her artistic abilities. She was an excellent cook and was known for her chicken and dumplings, baked beans, and cherry breeze pie. She hosted large gatherings and was an inspiration to many outside her immediate family including nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. She will be truly missed.

    Preceding her in death were her parents, Lowell and Oma Barks, and siblings: Evalene Collins, Jimmy Simmons, Francis Nations, and Wilma Hovis.

    Survivors include her husband Tim, and daughters: Angela Lincoln of Marble Hill, MO and Jessica (Chad) Lutes of Silva, MO. Grandchildren: Neil (Torie) Johnson of Advance, MO, Landon (Savannah) of Jackson, MO, and Rafe, Reagan, Glory, and Tallie Johnson, all of Marble Hill. Great-Grandsons: Tyson Johnson of Advance, MO and Ari Johnson of Jackson, MO. Siblings: Gene (Diane) Barks of Brighton, IL, Earlene Lunsford of Jackson, MO, Glen (Sheila) Simmons of Marble Hill, MO, and Roy Simmons of Illinois. Sisters-in-law: Pam Arnold of Chaffee, MO and Andrea (Mike) Wendel of Jackson, MO.

    Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, from 4pm until 8pm, and on Friday from 9am until time of service at 10am. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022 at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, at 10am with Bro. Gus Wischmann. Interment will follow in Cook Cemetery near Scopus, MO.

    Arrangements were under the care of Liley Funeral Homes in Marble Hill.

    John Lowell Barks, age 87, of Marble Hill, MO passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

    He was born March 6, 1925 in Bollinger County; son of John Burlen and Maggie Gertrude Ramsey Barks. He and Oma Gattis Simmons were united in marriage in 1950 and she passed away October 7th 1995, he married Polly Owens in April 1996 and she passed away in January 2007.

    John joined the United States Navy in March 1943 and served as a Machinist Mate 3rd Class upon leaving the Navy in March 1946 he worked as a carpenter. He was a member of the West Side Church of Christ in Piggott, AR.

    Survivors include a son John Eugene Barks of Brighton, Ill, daughters; Earlene Lundsford of Pocahontas, MO, Evalene Collins of Cape Girardeau, Carol Lincoln of Marble Hill, step sons; Glen Simmons of MO, Roy Simmons of IL, Jimmy Simmons, Leroy Owens both of AR, Step daughters; Francis Nation of FL, Peggy Redmond of AR, ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, and twenty five step grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Naomi McClard, Delores Golightly, Flora Fornkhal, Fern Graves and two infants.

    Visitation will be Friday, July 13, 2012 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

    Funeral Services will be Friday, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Gus Wischmann and Chad Lutes officiating. Burial will follow in the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill with Full Military Honors provided by the Missouri Honors Team.

    Oma L. Barks, 74, of Burfordville, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 1995, at the family home.

    She was born Sept. 22, 1921 in Nimmons, Ark., daughter of the late Elain and Lena Crow Gattis.

    She first married Lucas Simmons who died July 19, 1946. On Jan. 18, 1950 she married John "Lowell" Barks, who survives.

    She was a member of the Shawnee Church of Christ in Jackson.

    She is also survived by four sons; five daughters; a brother, Frank Gattis of Dallas, six sisters, Polly Owens, Brenda Burgass and Fannie Gattis, all of Piggott, Ark., Dorothy Owens of Nimmons, Faye Simmons of East Alton, Ill., and JoAnn Paris of Kennett; 30 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

    Liley Funeral Home of Marble Hill was in charge of arrangements. Funeral services were in the chapel with Jerry Culbertson and John Stinnett officiating. Burial was at Bollinger County Memorial Park near Marble Hill.

    Elaine Gattis aged 86 of Nimmons died Thursday April 6th in the Piggott Hospital.

    Survivors include his wife; three sons, Denzie Ray Gattis and Franklin Gattis, both of Nimmons, and Raymond Gattis of St. Louis; seven daughters, Mrs. Oma Banks of Marble Hill, Mo., Mrs. Patricia Ellis of St. Louis., Mrs. Dorothy Owens, Mrs. Polly Owens and Miss Brenda Gattis, all of Nimmons, Mrs. Fay Simmons of East Alton, Ill., and Mrs. Jo Ann Sterns of Kennett, Mo., 24 Grandchildren and nine Great grandchildren. Funeral was Sunday at Nimmons Church of Christ by Rev. Albert Lemmons.

    Burial was at Nimmons Cemetery by Russell Funeral Service.

    Lena Gattis, age 84, of Nimmons, passed away July 5 at the Piggott Community Hospital. Piggott Mortuary will be in charge of the funeral arrangements.

    Lena Gattis, the daughter of the late John and Millie Crow, was born Jan. 26, 1903, at Piggott and died July 5, 1987, at Piggott at the age of 84 years.

    She was united in marriage to Elaine Gattis in 1917. To this union four sons and eight daughters were born.

    She was preceded in death by her husband; three sons, Denzil Ray, Raymond and Alvin Gattis, and one brother, John Henry Crow.

    She is survived by one son, Franklin D. Gattis of Dallas, Tex.; eight daughters, Oma Barks of Jackson, Miss., Polly Owen, Dorothy Owens, Brenda Burress and Fanny Gattis, all of Nimmons, Joe Ann Paris of Rector, Faye Simmons of Bunker Hill, Mo., and Pallie Ellis of St. Louis; one sister, Mary Jerke of Greenway; 36 grandchildren; 71 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Nimmons Church of Christ.

    Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, at the Nimmons Church of Christ with Gail Benson officiating. Burial was in Nimmons Cemetery. Pallbearers were Russell Gattis, Franklin Gattis, Michael Donaldson, Roger Beck, Virgil Owen, and Donald Stahl.

    Piggott Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.
