    Gail Overbeck, 64 of Columbia, MO passed away in her home on Tuesday, June 7th, 2016.

    Visitation will be on Saturday, June 11, 2016 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.

    Gail was born October 16th, 1951 in St Joseph, MO to George and Hazel (Vessels) Marriott. She graduated from David H. Hickman High School in 1971 and started working at Ellis Fischel Cancer Hospital as a dietary aide shortly after graduation. She met Wayne Overbeck and they were wed on March 2, 1974 in Parkade Baptist Church in Columbia, MO. Later, she transferred to University Hospital where she finished 38 years of services before retiring in 2011.

    Along with her husband of 42 years, she is survived by her youngest daughter, Erika, and soon to be son-in-law, Tylor Prentice, of Centralia; two grandsons, Deven and Jace of Centralia; one brother, Gary Marriott, and his wife, Carole, of Eldon. She is preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Emily Overbeck.

    George Nelson Marriott, 71, of Eldon died Thursday, Dec. 26, 1996, at Capital Region Medical Center - Southwest in Jefferson City.

    He was born Feb. 25, 1925, at Versailles to August and Rosella M. Hutchison Marriott. He was married Feb. 8, 1946, in Troy, Kan., to Hazel G. Vessells, who survives at the home.

    Mr. Marriott was a butcher for Wilson Meat Company in Columbia for many years, retiring in 1987. He resided in Columbia from 1967 until 1987 and then moved to Eldon. He was a Methodist.

    In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Gary N. Marriott of Eldon; a daughter, Gail Lynn Overbeck of Columbia; two sisters, Helen Visccoli and Arietta Moore, both of Versailles; and six grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles with the Rev. Jackie Moore officiating. Burial was in Versailles Cemetery.

    Memorials are suggested to the Missouri River Home Health and Hospice in Versailles.

    Hazel Grace Marriott, 91, of Eldon, formerly of Versailles, died early Saturday morning, Nov. 29, 2008, at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City.

    She was born Sept. 14, 1917, in Lebanon, Okla., to Edward and Ida Crow Vessels. On Feb. 8, 1946, she was married in Troy, Kan., to George Marriott, who died Dec. 26, 1996.

    The Marriotts made their home in Columbia for several years, where she worked in the Gerbes store. They later moved to Versailles and she lived there until moving to Eldon to be near her son and family. She was a member of the Eldon Church of the Nazarene.

    Surviving are four children and their spouses, Gary and Carole Marriott of Eldon, Gail Lynn and Wayne Overbeck of Columbia, Darvin Shue and Don Shue, both of Dallas, Texas; a brother, Kenneth Vessels of Durant, Okla.; a sister, Edna Mae Rorie of Durant, Okla.; six grandchildren, Erika Overbeck, Emily Fitzhugh and husband Jeff, Cassandra Miller and husband Will, Lance Marriott, Kimberly Robertson and husband Chris and Stacy Dunham and husband Jay; six great-grandchildren, Baily and Parker Dunham, Britton and Cooper Robertson, Emma Charles Miller and Devan Oberbeck.

    One son, Kenneth Shue, preceded her in death.

    Funeral services were held Tuesday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles with her nephew, the Rev. Jackie Moore, and the Rev. Jerry Frye officiating. Burial was in the West Lawn Addition of the Versailles Cemetery.

    James M. Crow Claimed by Death

    Brief Illness Fatal to 82-Year-Old Man

    James Mackelroy Crow died at his home near McMillan January 3 following a brief illness. Final services for the 82-year-old farmer, who had lived in Marshall county since 1910, were held at the Watts Chapel at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon with L. E. Carpenter, minister, conducting.

    Mr. Crow is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma Crow, and four children, Frank Crow, McMillan; Charlie Crow, Oakland; Mrs. Pearl Shelton, Purcell, and Mrs. Iola Kubik, Cedar Rapides, Iowa. Seventeen grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one brother also survive.

    Burial was at McMillan cemetery with Watts Funeral Home in charge.

    Emma E. Crow Is Claimed by Death

    Wife Dies Only 36 Days After Husband

    Emma Eudora Crow died at the home of her son, Charlie, in Oakland Friday - only 36 days after the death of her husband, James, on January 3.

    Mrs. Crow was 79 at death and had made her home in Marshall county since 1911. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

    Immediate survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Pearl Shelton, Purcell, and Mrs. Ila Ann Kubik, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two sons, Charlie, Oakland, and Frank, McMillan; 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one brother.

    Services were held at the Watts Chapel at 2 Saturday with L. E. Carpenter, minister, conducting.

    Burial was at McMillan with the Watts Funeral home in charge.
