    PERRES FUNERAL SET FOR FRIDAY

    Rites for Widow of Rayne Fire Chief to Be at 9 o'clock Tomorrow Morning

    Rayne, La., March 14 - Mrs. Georgiana Amy Perres, 52, widow of the late Chief Felix Perres, who died on Friday, March 2, died in a New Orleans hospital at 8 a.m. Wednesday, 11 days after the death of her husband.

    Funeral services have been set for 9 a.m. Friday, with a solemn requiem mass at St. Joseph's Catholic church, Rev. Father H. Lerschen will officiate, and following the services, burial will be in the family vault in St. Joseph cemetery. Until the hour of the funeral, the body will be at the family home.

    Mrs. Perres suffered a stroke immediately following her husband's death, and had been in a critical condition since that time. On Monday night she was taken to New Orleans for further treatment, but failed to respond.

    Mrs. Perres was the former Miss Georgiana Amy, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. V. Amy. She was born in St. Martinsville on February 8, 1888, but moved with her family to Rayne to make her home in later years.

    On October 27, 1908, she was married to Felix Peres at the local Catholic church, the late Right Rev. Msgr. A.S. Doutre officiating. Since that time she had been active in church, social and civic circles, and had accompanied Chief Perres to numerous international conventions of fire chiefs and similar organizations. She was a member of the Caholic Daughters of America and the Ladies Altar society

    She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. walter B. Chelf of Indianapolis, Ind., and one son, Leo Perres of Eunice; one grandson; five sisters, Mrs. A.L. Guidry, Port Arthur, Texas; Mrs. L.A. Morrison, Mrs. Laurent Oubre and Mrs. Lee Oubre, all of St. Martinville, and Mrs. Antoine Lacroix of Rayne; and one brother, Martin Amy of Loreauville.
