    Services for Adolph "AG" Hronek Jr. 76, of Caldwell are set for 10 a.m. Thursday at Cooks Point United Methodist Church.

    Burial will be at Cooks Point Cemetery in Caldwell. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Cooks Point United Methodist Church.

    Local arrangements are under the direction of Daniel & Son Funeral Home in Bryan.

    Mr. Hronek died Sunday at Sheridan Care Center.

    He was retired from Texas A&M University power plant.

    Survivors include his wife, Bernice Hronek of Caldwell; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and David Dolliver of Caldwell; and two grandchildren.

    Memorials may be made to Cooks Point United Methodist Church.

    Mrs. Ella Bernice (Loehr) Hronek, 84 of Caldwell, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015, in Bryan, at St. Joseph Regional Hospital.

    Visitation is scheduled from 5-7:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 21, 2015, at Cooks Point United Methodist Church.

    Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015, at 10 am at Cooks Point United Methodist Church with Rev. Lightsey officiating. Burial immediately following, in the church cemetery.

    Bernice was born to Henry and Ella (Poehl) Loehr.

    She grew up in the Cooks Point Community, attended school from grades 1st-8th and graduated Caldwell High School in 1949.

    Bernice married A.G. Hronek on Dec. 23, 1950. She graduated from Durham Business College in Houston and worked for Cravens Dargen Ins. Co. and Humble Oil Company in Houston, before returning to Burleson County in 1963 to help her husband run a dairy farm.

    Bernice retired from Texas A&M as an accountant with 30+ years of service.

    She was a member of SPJST and the Cooks Point United Methodist Church.

    Bernice enjoyed baking and is known by many for her delicious carrot cakes, cheesecakes and croissants she made for friends and family.

    Her other hobbies included traveling, shopping, cake decorating, scrapbooking, growing African violets, roses, and gardening.

    Her most favorite pastime was being a grandparent, and the real love of her life is her granddaughter, Brooke.

    Bernice is preceded in death by her husband and parents.

    Bernice will be lovingly missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and David Dolliver, grandchildren Brooke Dolliver, Kyle and Katie (Fulton) Dolliver; great-grandchildren Reagan and Ryan; very special aunt, Gladys Loehr, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

    The family extends a very special thanks and appreciation to the staff, volunteers, nurses, and aids of the Burleson St. Joseph Manor for the fantastic care they provided to Bernice during the past 6 years. She considered many of them to be part of her extended family.

    Joseph Drgac Is Claimed by Death Sunday

    Prominent Cook's Point Farmer Was One of County's Original Czech Settlers

    Joseph D. Drgac, 69, prominent farmer of the Cook's Point community, died at his home Sunday night of a heart ailment. He had been ill several days.

    Funeral services were held Tuesday with Rev. H.E. Beseda of Caldwell and Rev. Joseph Hegar of Temple officiating, assisted by Rev. Ernest Deutsch of Bay City. Interment, under the direction of Harvey-Schiller, was made in the Slovak cemetery, four miles south of Cook's Point.

    Mr. Drgac was born at Wesley in Washington County, October 28, 1870. He had been a resident of Burleson County 64 years and was one of the original Czech settlers in this county. He was a charter member and one of the founders of the Cook's Point Moravian church, a member of the S.P.J.S.T. and W.O.W. lodges and a former trustee of the Cook's Point school district. His wife preceded him in death eight years ago.

    Surviving Mr. Drgac are thirteen children, Walter Drgac of Wall, William H. Drgac, Joseph B. Drgac, Edward J. Drgac, Frank F. Drgac, John F. Drgac, Mrs. Adolph Hronek, Mrs. John Kubena, Miss Albina Drgac, Mrs. Frank Kubena, Mrs. Wilton Chaloupka, Mrs. Rudolph Luksa, and Mrs. Emil Urbanovsky, all of Burleson county; three brothers, J.K. Drgac of Cook's Point, F.B. Drgac of Caldwell and Peter Drgac of Rosenberg, and three sisters, Miss Anna Sebesta, Mrs. Frank Bednar and Mrs. J.J. Skrivanek, all of this county.

    Cooks Point Lady Citizen Aged 60 Died Friday

    The Funeral services of Mrs. Jos. D. Drgac, who died at her home in Cooks Point, Friday, August 5, 1932, at the age of sixty years were held August 6, 1932. Rev. F.H. Horak conducted the services.

    Mrs. Drgac was born at Wesley, Washington County, February 29, 1872, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Sebesta. At the age of 6 years she came with her parents to Burleson County to make her home. When she was nineteen she was married to Mr. Jos. D. Drgac and to this union thirteen children were born, all of whom are living. There were six sons and seven daughters, Walter J., William, Joe, Edward, Frank, John, Mrs. Adolph Hronek, Mrs. John Kubena, Mrs. Wilton Chaloupka, and Misses Milady, Albina, Ella and Olga.
