    GEORGE E. HODGES, SHREVEPORT, DIES

    SHREVEPORT, La., Dec. 22 -(P)- George Egan Hodges, 67, prominent Shreveport businessman, died of a stroke early today. For many years he was engaged in the automobile storage business here.

    He was a cousin of Major General Campbell B. Hodges, president of Louisiana State University, and W.H. Hodges of Elm Grove.

    Surviving are his widow, the former Miss Ruth Houston; two sisters, Miss Lillian Hodges, Cotton Valley, and Mrs. T.L. James, Ruston, and two brothers, A.J. Hodges, Shreveport, and John C. Hodges, Nashville, Tenn.

    Funeral services will be held here sometime Wednesday. Interment will be in the family cemetery at Cotton Valley.

    George Egan Hodges, 64, founder of the Hodges Auto Storage company, died at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday at his home, 837 Wall street, after suffering a stroke earlier the same morning.

    He is survived by his wife; two sisters, Miss Lillian Hodges of Cotton Valley and Mrs. T.L. James of Ruston; two brothers, A.J. Hodges of Shreveport and John C. Hodges of Nashville, Tenn.

    Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at the Osborn funeral chapel, conducted by Dr. M.E. Dodd, pastor of the First Baptist church, and additional services will be held at Cotton Valley. Burial will be in Cotton Valley cemetery.

    Pallbearers are U. Albritton, Thomas Hodges, John L. Mercer, Carl Jones, R.S. Whitten, Jack Tullos, L.M. Moffitt and Dr. O.C. Rigsby.

    Mr. Hodges was born at Cotton Valley and moved to Shreveport in 1913. He organized the Hodges Auto Storage Co. in 1917 and was active in that business until he retired a few months ago. He is a member of the Elks lodge.
