    Obituary:

The life of John Earl Moore will be celebrated with a funeral service at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Rose Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Pastor Frank Gunn of Broadmoor Baptist Church. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will immediately follow the service at Forest Park Cemetery, 3700 St. Vincent Avenue, Shreveport, Louisiana.

John Earl was devoted in his faith by reading his Bible and daily devotional every morning.

John Earl Moore was born September 26, 1937 in Shreveport, Louisiana, to John Edward and Frances Eloise Moore. John Earl went to be with the Lord Saturday, October 7, 2023 following a short illness, with the love of his life Jon Dell Moore at his side. For over forty years, John Earl was a construction sales representative for Associated Building Supply, Minden Lumber, and Howard Lumber. "Poppi", as John Earl was affectionally referred to by his family, was an avid fisherman and hunter. After catching the biggest Opelousas catfish right out his front door on Caddo Lake, Poppi would fry up the best supper around. In his later years, he became a softie to God's creatures (his beloved dog, Bella, slept snuggled against him each night). John Earl loved to be surrounded by his family and friends and regaled them with his jokes, pranks, and stories. He was also known for his elaborate holiday prayers that warmed our hearts and cooled our food.

Left to treasure John Earl's memory are Jon Dell, his loving wife of 65 years; brothers, Jerry Moore, Tinker Moore and wife Mary, and T-Willie Moore; children, Jeff Moore and wife Sandra, Tina Langston and husband David, and Misty Meendsen and husband Fred; grandchildren, Matthew Bryson and wife Chelsea, Chelsea Scott and husband Alex, Aaron Langston, Christina Causey and husband Jeremy, Peyton Moore and wife Georgie, Erik Meendsen and wife Georgia, and Alec Meendsen and wife Caitlin, along with six great-grandchildren Kylie Moore, Ava Scott, Langston and Lindyn Causey, Barrett Bryson, and Liam Moore.

Honoring John Earl as pallbearers will be Scott Bryan, Matthew Bryson, Jeremy Causey, Aaron Langston, Alec Meendsen, Erik Meendsen, and honorary pallbearer Peyton Moore.

The family suggests memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
