Funeral services for Hester Jane Lewis, 90, were held Oct. 3 in Madill.
Mrs. Lewis was born April 14, 1898 in Ozan, Ark. She died Oct. 1 in a local nursing home.
Mrs. Lewis grew up in Marshall County and had lived in Baum six years. She moved to Mannsville 14 years ago. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Her husband, John McAlister, preceded her in death Nov. 20, 1958. She married Arthur Lewis in Gainesville, Sept. 1, 1972. He preceded her in death Jan. 27, 1988.
She is survived by three daughters, Vila Anderson and Corinne Claborn, both of Madill, and Zelma Leslie of Wilson, one brother, Elton Roberts of Wayne, three sisters, Gertie Crisp and Jessie Pakulski of Madill and Ruby Biles of Elk City; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Services were held in Watts Memorial Chapel with Hugh Campbell officiating assisted by Danny Stewart. Interment was in Woodberry-Forest Cemetery. Bearers were grandsons, Jerry and Wendyl Leslie, Carlos and David Davis, Jerry and Jeff Leslie and Kenny Claborn.Hester married Claude Cecil Crow 5 Jul 1917, Madill, Marshall County, Oklahoma, USA.
