    Funeral Services For Henri Blanc

    RAYNE, La., Sept. 16 - Funeral services for Henri Blanc, 65, were held at St. Joseph's Catholic church at 3 p.m. Monday, with burial following in the adjacent cemetery. Mr. Blanc died at 10 a.m. Sunday. The body lay in state at the Blanc home until the hour of the services.

    Henri Blanc Rites Held Here Monday

    Funeral services for Henri Blanc, 65, longtime resident of Rayne and well-known throughout this section of the state where he has been employed in business for many years, who died Sunday morning at 10 a.m., were held on Monday afternoon at 3 p.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church here.

    Mr. Blanc was stricken suddenly, and was rushed to the Legion Memorial Hospital in Crowley early Sunday, where he passed away a few hours later. His death came as a complete shock to the community, since he had been in town Saturday, visiting with friends.

    More complete details concerning his death will be carried in Friday's edition of Tribune.

    The sympathy of this paper, and the many friends in this entire section, goes to Mrs. Blanc and other members of the bereaved family in this time of sorrow and loss.

    HENRI BLANC RITES MONDAY

    Long-Time Resident Dies Suddenly On Sunday in Crowley

    Henri Blanc, 69, native of France, but a resident of this section for many years where he was well-known to a wide circle of business acquaintances and friends, died after a brief illness at 10 a.m. Sunday at a Crowley hospital.

    Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, from St. Joseph Catholic church with Very Rev. Msgr. Hubert Lerschen officiating, and interment followed in the adjacent Catholic cemetery. The Gossen Funeral Home directed arrangements. Pallbearers included Louis Crouchet, New Orleans; Francis Bernard, Baton Rouge; Frank and Bertrand Bazerque, Crowley, and August Chapuis and Jos. Latour, both of Rayne.

    Native of Ponts de St. Esprit, France, Mr. Blanc came to the United States when he was 17 years of age. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Antoine Blanc, both deceased. Employed as a salesman for the large part of his life, Mr. Blanc represented a number of prominent firms, including Werleins of New Orleans. He had called on customers in Kaplan and had been in town here during the day Saturday. Stricken about 2 a.m. Sunday, his condition continued to grow worse, and he was rushed to a Crowley hospital about 8 a.m. Sunday, dying there two hours later.

    He is survived by his widow, the former Mrs. Frank Bernard, to whom he was married on January 11, 1917; one daughter, Mrs. Edwin Jacob, New Orleans; one granddaughter, Mrs. Clarence Osborn, New Orleans; and two half sisters: Mrs. Jos. Latour, Rayne, and Mrs. Bazerque, Crowley.

    Among those from out-of-town here to attend the funeral of Mr. Blanc on Monday were members of the August A. Crouchet family of Lafayette, Louis Crouchet of New Orleans, Mrs. L.J. Delaune and Mrs. R.H. Collins of Houston, Tex.; Mr. and Mrs. Francis Bernard, Baton Rouge; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Jumonville and Carita of Crowley; Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Jacob, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Osborn and Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Carr of New Orleans, Mrs. Louis Krauss, Mrs. Charles Carrol, Lafayette, Mrs. Florence Dieth, New Orleans, Lloyd Gillard of Port Arthur, Tex., and many others.
