Obituary:

Kerry Harold Garrison (age 71) passed away on July 23, 2019 after battling multiple health problems. Kerry was born on July 12, 1948 in Garland Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Joyce Garrison. Kerry is survived by Martha Garrison, son Sean Garrison, sister Cheryl Rattan, her husband Don and their children/grandchildren Zach, Shelby Duvall, Addy Duvall and 17 other beloved nieces and nephews.

Kerry earned North Texas State University BBA/MBA Business degrees and had a fruitful career in commercial lending, business development and leasing services for numerous banks and leasing companies in Texas and Virginia. He was most fond of his years at Capital Bank N.A. and his time in Virginia.

Kerry's true passions were family, friends and sports. He was an athlete and avid sports enthusiast who enjoyed golf, baseball, hunting and fishing. Kerry was a true sportsman. He had great culinary prowess and provided many wonderful meals for family and friends. Kerry had a deep connection to music that enriched his life since childhood.

Kerry had a big heart and a knack "to make a short story long." Despite many physical challenges during the past year Kerry remained courageous, positive and always had a smile on his face. All who encountered Kerry remember his sense of humor and warm nature. He will be sorely missed.

The family is immensely grateful to all of Kerry's dear friends, particularly Don and Linda Barber, who nursed him through many long recoveries over the years along with Assisting Hands' staff who provided care during his final days.

A celebration of life will be held at Williams Funeral Home in Garland, TX on August 2, 2019 at 1:00pm. Reception immediately to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association (link below). If you choose to donate, please tribute your gift to Kerry.
