Obituary:

LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Chano "Pecas" Leal, Jr., 70, who passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. Reverend William Ruskoski, Associate Pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Broussard, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services.

Survivors include six daughters, Vickie Nettles (Charlie), Laurie Leal, Rose Puckett (Rob), Rhonda Allen (Ronnie), Susan Domingue and Tifani Leal; eleven grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chonea Leal, Sr. and Maria Lopez Leal; two sisters, Francis Leal Beltran and Rosa Thersa Leal; and former wife, Cynthia Broussard Leal.

A native of Texas and a resident of Lafayette for most of his life, Pecas, as he was most affectionately known to friends and family, was an avid fisherman and pool player. He was the general manager of International Well Testers, Inc. since 1988.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN Lafayette location on Friday, June 7, 2013 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Saturday from 8:00 AM until the time of service. A Rosary will be prayed on Friday at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
