Obituary:

Funeral services for Lotus Elaine (Wilcox) McGinty are set for 2 PM, Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at the Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville. A visitation will be held from 9 AM that morning until the time of the funeral service and burial will follow in the Park Cemetery. Rev. Edward McKnight will officiate and all arrangements are under the direction of Madisonville Funeral Home.

Lotus McGinty was born in Madisonville on July 25, 1950 to Frank E. Wilcox and Letha Reba (Thompson) Wilcox. She grew up in Madisonville but lived in Harris County for more than 30 years. Lotus attended Living Water Assembly of God Church in Pasadena. She was a school crossing guard for Deer Park I.S.D. for several years and also drove a bus for the Deer Park I.S.D. She enjoyed craft projects. Lotus was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Thomas McGinty, Sr. She passed away on January 22, 2016 at a Pasadena Hospital.

Surviving family members include her son, Thomas McGinty, Jr. of Gulf Port, Mississippi; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Chuck Whittington of La Porte, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Tommye and Aaron Baquet of La Porte, Texas; brother, Robert E. Wilcox of Deer Park, Texas; sister, Rita McKnight of Deer Park, Texas and grandchildren, Taylor Whittington, Chelsea McGinty, Aaron Baquet, Sean Baquet and Casey Baquet.

Lotus married Thomas Wayne McGinty 10 Jun 1966, Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, USA. Thomas (son of William Thomas McGinty and Melba Ruth Andrus) was born 12 Nov 1944, Madisonville, Madison County, Texas, USA; died 1 Mar 2007, Pasadena, Harris County, Texas, USA; was buried 5 Mar 2007, Park Cemetery - Madisonville, Texas, USA.
