    YORKTOWN - Jeffrey Ray Saunders Sr., 38, of Yorktown, died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002.

    He was born Oct. 9, 1964, in Dilley, to David and Mary Lee Lucas Saunders of Yorktown. He was a parts counterman for Weber Motors Company in Cuero and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

    Survivors: wife, Christie Hoefling Saunders ; daughters, Amber Saunders of Goliad and Kali Saunders of Yorktown; sons, Jeffrey Saunders Jr. of Goliad, Gerald Saunders and Mitchell Saunders , both of Yorktown; brothers, Ronnie Saunders and Michael Saunders , both of Yorktown; and grandmother, Pauline Waits of Yorktown.

    Preceded in death by: brother, Gerald Saunders .
    Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. tonight at Lamprecht-Janssen Funeral Home chapel.

    Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, the Rev. Patti Byrne officiating.

    Burial will be at Westside Cemetery. Lamprecht-Janssen Funeral Home, Yorktown, 361-564-2277.

    Robert Bradley Birchum, 77, of Westhoff, passed away Monday, November 20, 2017. He was born October 1, 1940 in Norman, OK to the late Giles and Gladys Miller Birchum. Robert graduated from Abilene Christian University and then went on to received his Masters of Poultry Science from Texas A&M University. He enjoyed dancing, trail riding, fishing in Choke Canyon, hunting, and watching Cuero Gobbler and Aggie football games. He spent most of his life farming and ranching. Robert is survived by his long time companion, Debbie Burnett; daughter, Serena Hunnam and husband, Keith, of Cuero, and Charla Simms of Abilene; sons, Giles "Bo" Birchum of Westhoff and William "Brad" Birchum of Abilene; brother, Giles Lester Jr. and wife, Karen, of Houston; grandchildren, Stacy Rodriguez of Cuero, Gerald Sanders of Yorktown, and Kali Sanders of Goliad; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at Freund Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with Pastor Glenn Moore officiating. Honorary pallbearers include Robert Ramirez, Blake Dunn, Kent Hilbrich, Richard Zimmerman, DR Burnett, and Kevin Caraway. Memorial contributions may be made to Lindenau Rifle Club.

    MADISONVILLE - Funeral services for Mr. Robert Lee May, 62, of North Zulch, were held today at 2 p.m. at the Willow Hole Chapel at North Zulch with burial in the Willow Hole Cemetery. The Rev. Phil Snell, of College Station, was to officiate with funeral arrangements by Ferguson Funeral Home of Madisonville.

    Mr. May died Saturday in a Bryan hospital. He was born April 27, 1914 in Madison County and lived there all his life. He was a welder.

    He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ella Mae May of North Zulch; four sons, James E. May, Donald Ray May and Terry Lynn May all of North Zulch, and Robert H. May of Houston; four daughters, Mrs. Betty Wade of College Station, Mrs. Delores Birchum of Westoff, Mrs. Linda Presley of North Carolia and Mrs. Lanell Gafford of Madisonville; two brothers, Thomas May of North Zulch and Albert May of Baytown; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Fitzgerald and Mrs. Clemmie Stabler, both of Houston, and Mrs. Pauline Windham of North Zulch; his mother, Mrs. Mary May of North Zulch; and 22 grandchildren.

    Ella Mae (Andrus) May, 96 of North Zulch, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2016, in Bryan. A celebration of her life was held Friday; March 25, at Day Funeral Home Chapel in Madisonville. Glenn Connor officiated. Visitation was held Thursday at Day Funeral Home Chapel.

    Ella Mae was born on Nov. 4, 1919, in North Zulch to James and Letha (Coldiron) Andrus and was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert May; her children, Betty Wade and Martha May; and her siblings, James Andrus, Herman Andrus, Nettie Nelson, and Melba McGinty.

    Ella Mae is survived by her children, Robert May and his wife, Joyce, James May and his wife Pat, Delores Birchum, Donald May and his wife, Katie, Linda Presley and her husband, Michael, Lanelle Gafford, and Terry May; 24 grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.
