Tennyson, Helen Jane Weekly Perres
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at Matthews & Son Funeral Home, Gueydan, for Helen Jane Weekly Perres Tennyson, 67, who died Saturday, March 3, at Naomi Heights Nursing and Rehab in Alexandria. The family requested visitation on Monday, March 5, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Family requests visitation on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until service. Interment in Istre Cemetery, with Hal Stanley, pastor, conducting the service. Mrs. Tennyson was a native of Gueydan, a resident of LeCompte and a former resident of Baton Rouge. She was a home economics teacher for 23 years, mostly in Zachary. She loved her family and friends and to cook, sew and dance.
Survivors include her son, Chris Perres and his wife, Kayla, of Huntsville, Ala.; two daughters, Michelle Perres Stanley and her husband, Hal Stanley, pastor, of Hot Springs, Ark., and Cherie Perres Grayson and her husband, Danny, of LeCompte; two brothers, Ronald Weekly of Gueydan and Gerald Weekly of Union Grove, N.C.; sister, Melinda Lantier of Gueydan; and 10 grandchildren.
