    Obituary:

    Bobby G. Jones, 71, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2007, at home, with his family at his side after battling brain cancer for two years.

    A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 15, 2007, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Longview.

    He was born September 23, 1936, at his home in Longview, and he was a lifelong resident there, having graduated from Longview High School and Kilgore Junior College. After 20 years in research and development at Texas Eastman, he left to start his own business, Bob's Custom Pools. He later expanded his contracting business into Jones Construction Specialties and continued until illness forced his retirement. He was well-known both for his quality of work and for standing behind it.

    Mr. Jones was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 404, Scottish Rite and Sharon Temple Shrine. He worked on behalf of the Shriner's Hospitals for Children in Shreveport, Louisiana, and Galveston, having organized blood drives and participated in fundraisers.

    He was preceded in death by his father, Archie I. Jones; mother, Bess Kepler; sister and brother-in-law, Billy and Bill Schultz; and two brothers, Archie Jones Jr. and Clayton Jones.

    He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Ginger Jones; son, Clayton Jones of Longview; daughter, Kasey Dickens and husband, Shane Dickens; grandchildren, Shalyn and Kaylee Dickens, and Cory Jones; nephews and wives, Artie and Donna Schultz of Garland, David and Kim Schultz, and Steve and Cindy Schultz, both of Plano; four great-nephews and great-nieces; and five great-great-nieces.
