    MOORINGSPORT, LA - David Burroughs, Sr. passed away at home June 3, 2007 after a lengthy illness. He was retired from the Shreveport Police Department and owned Dave Burroughs Construction for 40 years. He was preceded in death by one son E. Aubrey Burroughs.

    He is survived by wife, Ernestine Lindsey Burroughs; sons, Pat Burroughs and wife Kim, David Burroughs, Jr. and wife Caroline; and daughter-in-law, Brenda Burroughs; grandchildren, David Lee Burroughs and wife Jessica, Megan and Amber Cortez, Reggie Onstott and wife Donna and Matthew Burroughs; great-grandchildren, Aubrey May Burroughs and Cloie Onstott; brothers, Joe, Pete and Ezra Burroughs; sisters Naomi Vaughn and Rachel Adkins. Special nephew Ralph Burroughs; special friends Mike and Debbie Lowery and Steve Evans.

    Special thanks to Fire Chief Kevin Moore and EMS Personnel from Fire District 7 and Deputy James Moore with Caddo Parish Sheriff's office. Family and friends will gather at the Fraternal Order of Police Club at South Lakeshore and Duncan Road Friday, June 8 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

    Obituary:

    Funeral services for Mrs. Lena Vance Patterson, 70, were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2002 in the New Sarepta Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Dodds officiating. Burial followed in the Old Sarepta Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary of Springhill.

    Mrs. Patterson died July 15 following a short illness. She was a lifelong resident of this area and a member of the New Sarepta Baptist Church. She was a retired manager of Carter Federal Credit Union after 32 years of service and very active in community and civic activities.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Newman "Bob" Patterson on May 15, 1997 and a great-granddaughter, Jordan Renee Hunter.

    She is survived by a son, David Burroughs and his wife, Carolyn, of Haughton; three daughters, Joyce Patterson of Sarepta, Mae Hunter and her husband, Wayne, of Minden, and Deborah Harding and her husband, J.R., of Springhill; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Delores Gibbs of Sarepta; a brother, Carl Crawford and his wife, Margaret, of Amarillo, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

    Pallbearers were Wayne Hunter, Richard Hunter, Chad Mills, Bill Carver, Mercer Dodge, Bobby Barnes, Scott Pine and Charles Boothe. Honorary pallbearers were Darrold McAllister, Jimmy Ambrose and deacons of the New Sarepta Baptist Church.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the New Sarepta Baptist Church Building Fund.

    SAREPTA, LA - Services for Mr. Lester R. Crawford, 83, of Sarepta will be held at 2 p.m. Monday March 14, at the New Sarepta Baptist Church where he was a member. Dr. Richard May will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Kenneth Everett. Burial will be in Old Sarepta Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary of Springhill.

    Mr. Crawford died Saturday March 12, 1988, in Springhill after a long illness. A native of Karo, Texas, he had been a resident of Sarepta for the past 60 years. He was a retired employee of International Paper Co. with 29 years of service. He was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Army.

    He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Agnes Houston Crawford on August 19, 1979.

    He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Dolores and John Gibbs, Lena and Bob Patterson, all of Sarepta; one son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Margaret Crawford of McAlister, N. Mex.; eight grandchildren, Donna Pine of Bossier City, David Burroughs of Haughton, La., Jerry Crawford and Debbie Stevens, both of Amarillo, Texas, Brenda Davidson of Arlington, Texas, Deborah Butterworth of Los Angeles, Calif., Joyce Wiggins of Sibley, La., Mae Hunter of Minden, La.; fourteen great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.

    Pallbearers: Dorman Chamblee, Charles Staten, E.L. Edwards, Wiley Corley, George Mullins, Robert Green.

    Funeral services for Agnes Lee Crawford, 77, of Sarepta will be held at 4 p.m. today at the New Sarepta Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard May and Rev. Don Woodard officiating. Burial will be in the Old Sarepta Cemetery under direction of Bailey Mortuary of Springhill.

    Mrs. Crawford died Sunday night at Highland Memorial Hospital in Shreveport following a short illness.

    She was a life-long resident of the Sarepta area and a member of New Sarepta Baptist Church.

    She is survived by her husband, L.R. Crawford of Sarepta; two daughters, Mrs. Dolores Gibbs of Sarepta and Mrs. Lena Patterson of Minden; one son, Carl Crawford of Amarillo, Texas; one sister, Evelyn Keane of Sarepta, three brothers, Hollis Houston, E.L. Houston, both of Sarepta, and Charles Houston of Amarillo; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

    Pallbearers will be Eddie Keane, John Keane, Rodger Mitchell, David Mitchell, Max Covnet and David Covnet.
