    James Larry Viator

    James Larry Viator, 83, of Port Acres passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texas.

    James was born on August 13, 1939 in Lafayette, Louisiana to parents Ella (Trahan) and Raoul Viator. He has been a resident of the Port Acres area since 1942 and was a member of St. Theresa, Little Flower Of Jesus Catholic Church. James retired from Equistar as a lab technician at the age of 62. He enjoyed going fishing, watching football, and the outdoors; working in his garden and yard. He was a fireman in younger years, enjoyed going dancing and his pride and joy was his tractor. James was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed.

    He is preceded in death by his parents, Raoul and Ella Viator and his brother, Johnny Viator.

    James is survived by his wife of 63 years, Peggy Ann Viator, his daughters, Vanessa Lachney and her husband, Rusty of Groves, Veronica Rhoades and her husband, Ralph of Lumberton, Virginia Nugent of Port Arthur, Vicky Ronduen and her husband, Red of Williston, ND and his sister, Ruby Guidry of Fannette. His is survived by ten grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

    A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, May 28, 2023 from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. The family is honoring James wishes to be cremated under the trust of the funeral home.

    Eddie J. Talbot, 77, of Port Acres died Friday at Golden Triangle Convalescent Center.

    A native of Rayne, La., he was a longtime resident of Port Acres. He was a retired carpenter supervisor for Texaco with 46 years of service and a member of Port Acres Masonic Lodge No. 1303.

    Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Clayton-Thompson Funeral Home in Groves with the Rev. Martin Bordages officiating. Masonic burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A wake will be 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

    Survivors include his wife, Edna Zimmerman Talbot; a son, Michael Talbot of Lake Charles, La.; two daughters, Theresa Wolf and Peggy Viator, both of Port Acres; a brother, Dudley Talbot of Port Neches; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

    Edna Zimmerman Talbot, 84 of Port Arthur died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001, at a private care facility.

    A native and lifelong resident of Port Arthur, she was a homemaker.

    Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Anthony Mozhikuzhy officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

    Survivors include one son, Michael Talbot of Portage, Ind.; two daughters, Peggy Viator and Theresa Wolf, both of Port Arthur; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

    Emile Paul Talbot, 78, of 2527 62nd street, died today at 7:15 a.m. at Doctors' hospital of a sudden illness.

    A rosary will be recited tonight at 8 o'clock in the Grammier-Oberle Procter Street Funeral home chapel. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Little Flower of Jesus Catholic church. The Rev. Patrick O'Connell, pastor, will officiate. Entombment will be in Calvary Mausoleum.

    A native of Rayne, La., Mr. Talbot had lived in Port Arthur 49 years. He was employed by Texaco 37 years until he retired in 1957 as pipefitter No. 1. He was a member of Little Flower of Jesus Catholic church and OCAW 4-23.

    He is survived by a wife, Mrs. Alice Talbot; one daughter, Mrs. Willie Stanley; three sons, Eddie, Percy and Dudley Talbot; two sisters, Mrs. Eddie Champagne and Mrs. Amy LeBouef all of Port Arthur; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Claude Talbot of Nederland.

    A Rosary for Mrs. Alice Talbot, 79, of 2716 62nd St., will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday in Grammier-Oberle 39th St. Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Talbot died at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the Golden Triangle Nursing Home.

    Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church of which she was a member.

    Entombment will be in Calvary Mauseoleum.

    Mrs. Talbot had resided in Port Arthur 50 years.
