    Graveside services for Lucas John "Luke" Hawthorne, infant son of Sheri and Scott Hawthorne, will be held at noon today at Lakeview Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Bruce Edwards and the Rev. Randy Hageman officiating under the direction of Rader Funeral Home.

    He was born Sunday, July 27, 1997, in Longview and died Thursday evening at Children's Hospital in Dallas. Sheri and Scott would like to thank all of their friends and family for their prayers and support.

    In addition to his parents, Luke is survived by his sister, Brittany; grandparents, Cindy and Bill McMillan of Longview, Jerry and Cindy Stewman of Destin, Fla., Dinanne Hawthorne of White Oak and W.E. Hawthorne of Tatum; great-grandparents, Audrey and David Knotts of Gladewater, W.E. Hawthorne Sr. of Longview, and Dorothy and Loy Stewman of Atlanta, Ga.; and several aunts and uncles.

    The family requests that those who desire to do so may make memorials to Children's Medical Center of Dallas.

    Funeral services for Mr. W.E. Hawthorne, 75, of Tatum, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Tatum United Methodist Church with Rev. Dwain Smith and Galin Haygood officiating. Interment will follow at Waldrop Cemetery under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home.

    The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Tatum United Methodist Church.

    Mr. Hawthorne passed from this life on July 14, 2019, at Christus Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview.

    Willie Elmer "W.E." Hawthorne, Jr. was born March 12, 1944 in Franklin, La. to Willie Elmer and Mildred Hawthorne. He grew up in Homer, La. and graduated from Homer High School. He participated in numerous extracurricular activities lettering in choir, band, football, basketball, and track. After high school, he attended Southern Arkansas University on a football scholarship where he started 4 years on both offense and defense only coming off the field for a few special teams plays a game. He started his football coaching career in Van Buren, Ark. where he coached football, basketball, and track. He became the head coach and athletic director at Tatum High School in 1972 where he coached for the next 10 years. During his time at Tatum, he led the Eagles to numerous district championships and playoff appearances. After leaving the coaching profession, W.E. worked in numerous positions in the oilfield until his retirement in 2016.

    W.E. had a unique ability to remember facts, dates, and statistics about people, places, and events. He never met a stranger and always had plenty of stories to tell that were never short on details. He possessed a strong work ethic and expected the same from his children, athletes, and coworkers but always was out front leading by example. W.E. or "WE" as his grandchildren called him loved his children and grandchildren. Nothing gave him greater enjoyment than watching them participate in their numerous athletic events and all the while providing coaching advice whenever needed. He was truly their biggest fan.

    He was preceded in death by his parents and grandsons Lucas John Hawthorne and Zackary Scott Hawthorne. He is survived by his loving wife Marianne of Tatum; sister Milly Sale and husband Richard of Shreveport; children Scott Hawthorne of Hallsville, Cassie White of White Oak, Jason Wheeler and wife Shelley of Tatum, and Brad Hawthorne and wife Jennifer of White Oak; grandchildren, Brittany Grimm and husband Merritt, Garrett White, Kade Wheeler, Emma Hawthorne, Dallas Reeves, Farrah Reeves, Makenzie Hawthorne, Sam Hawthorne, and Josh Hawthorne; great grandchildren, Paisley White and Ella Rose Grimm; and numerous nieces and nephews.

    A special thanks to Dr. Rick Earnest and Dr. Larry Frase and the many healthcare professionals that cared for W.E. for the past several months.

    Pallbearers will be Pat Browning, Ron Reed, Dean Beall, Johnny Toon, Gary Ebberhart, Gene Centers, Horace James, and Willie Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Koch, Coach Joe Evans, Dee Hart, Dean Centers, Bob Barrett, Mike Nelson, Mark Nelson, Andy Evans and J. W. Parsons.

    GLADEWATER - Services for David E. Knotts, 91, of White Oak, will be 1 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gladewater, Texas. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum in Longview, Texas.

    Mr. Knotts passed away December 31, 2014, at Stratmore Heritage Nursing Home in Shreveport, La., after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. David was born November 28, 1923, in Neosho, Missouri, to David and Loretta Knotts.

    David proudly served his country in World War II from 1943-1945 earning four bronze stars, a good conduct medal and a World War II victory medal.

    He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Audrey; his parents; sisters, Lucille and Gal; brother, Bob; and great-grandsons, Luke and Zack. He is survived by three children, Dianne Hawthorne of White Oak, Texas, David A. Knotts and wife, Linda, of Shreveport, La., and Denny Knotts and wife, Terry, of Bossier City, La.; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and brother-in-law, George Cloud of Gladewater, Texas.

    Pallbearers will be George Cloud, Mark Cloud, Scott Hawthorne, Brad Hawthorne, Kyle Knotts and Garrett White.

    The family expresses special thanks to granddaughter sara Knotts, Dr. Richard Sipes, the staff at Heritage Manor Stratmore, and Life Path Hospice.

    GLADEWATER - Services honoring the life of Audrey Jean Knotts (Sweetheart), age 88, will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2014, at 2 P.M.at Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jim Thompson officiating. Entombment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum in Longview, Texas. Mrs. Knotts passed away on Monday, January 13, 2014 at Grace Home in Shreveport, Louisiana, after a long battle with Alzheimers.

    Audrey was born on May 28, 1925, in Cotton Valley, Louisiana, to Sam and Isha Cloud. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Peggy and Pat; and great-grandsons, Luke and Zack Hawthorne.

    She is survived by husband, David, of 70 years; three children, Dianne Hawthorne of White Oak, TX; David A. Knotts and wife Linda of Shreveport, LA; Denny Knotts and wife Terry of Bossier City, LA; along with many grandchildren; great-grandchildren and brother, George Cloud of Gladewater, TX.

    Pallbearers will be the grandsons, Scott Hawthorne, Brad Hawthorne, and Kyle Knotts; nephews, George Cloud and Mark Cloud; and great-grandson, Garret White.
