    HUGHES SPRINGS - Services for Ricky James Martin of Fort Worth, formerly of Hughes Springs, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Hughes Chapel Baptist Church in Hughes Springs with the Rev. George M. Hartfield officiating. Burial will be in Love Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home of Hughes Springs.

    Mr. Martin died Sept. 29 in Fort Worth.

    A native of Hughes Springs, he was born May 30, 1959. He was a member of Love Chapel Baptist Church of Hughes Springs and was honorably discharged from the Army.

    Survivors include stepmother, Effie Cheatham of Hughes Springs; brothers, Jerry Martin and Freddie Cheatham, both of Hughes Springs; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

    NAVASOTA - Services for Barbara Ann Loftin Martin, 44, of Millican are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Nobles Funeral Chapel.

    The Rev. Tim Green of Pentecostals of Bryan will officiate. Burial will be in Peach Creek Cemetery.

    Visitation is 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

    Mrs. Martin died Saturday in an auto accident.

    She was born in Navasota and was an assembler at BodyBilt Seating. She was also a member of Pentecostals of Bryan.

    Survivors include her son, Louis Martin of Millican; her parents, Johnny and Laura Burkhalter of Millican; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Benny Fleta Fannett of Millican and A.L. and Mary Ann Fannett of Jacksonville; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Kay and Bill Easterling of Bryan, Marie Fazzino of Millican, Elaine Fannett of Tyler, Vera and W.B. Carr of Willis and Sara and Bill McDaniel of Angleton.

    Memorials may be made to Pentecostals of Bryan.

    NAVASOTA - Services for Laura Greer Burkhalter, 95, of Millican are set for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota.

    Mrs. Burkhalter died Sunday in Brazos County.

    She was born in Peach Creek and was a homemaker.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Burkhalter.

    Survivors include six daughters and five sons-in-law, Marie Fazzino of Millican, Kay and Bill Easterling of Bryan, Sarah and Bill McDaniels of Angleton, Vera and W.B. Carr of Willis, Billie Jo and Autrey Dixon of Navasota and Elaine and Clint Trncak of Tyler; two sons and daughters-in-law, Andy and Mary Fanette and Ben and Fleeta Fanette, all of Jacksonville; 14 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

    Funeral services for Avery M. Greer, 91, of Route 3, Navasota, were held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, from the chapel of the Lindley-Robertson Funeral Home.

    The Rev. Bill Evans, pastor of the North Zulch Pentecostal Church, officiated. Interment was in the Peach Creek Cemetery.

    Mr. Greer died at 10 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, at the Grimes Memorial Hospital here.

    A native of Peach Creek, Brazos County, Mr. Greer was born Dec. 23, 1881, the son of Sarah Martin and Steve Greer. Mr. Greer, who was a retired farmer, was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Ida E. Greer, who died in 1956.

    Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Martha Mayo and Mrs. Louis Loftin, both of Route 3, Navasota; one son, Robert Greer of San Antonio; one step-son, Dimmit Price of Alvin; along with 34 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.

    Pallbearers were Bennie Fannett of Houston, Glenn Greer of Millican, Tommy Barker of Emory, W.B. Carr of Willis, Bill McDaniel of Angleton, and Sidney Greer of Bryan.

    NAVASOTA - Funeral services for Avery Monroe Greer, 91, Rt. 3 Navasota, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Lindley-Robertson Funeral Chapel here with Rev. Billy Evans, pastor of North Zulch Baptist Church, officiating.

    Mr. Greer died Tuesday in a Grimes County hospital. Burial will be in Peach Creek Cemetery.

    He was born in Brazos County Dec. 23, 1881 and was a lifetime resident. He was a Baptist and a retired farmer.

    Survivors include one son, Robert Greer of San Antonio; two daughters, Mrs. Martha Mayo and Mrs. Louis Loftin, both of Navasota; one step-son, Dimmit Price of Alvin; 34 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

    Funeral Services Held Sunday For Mrs. Ida Greer

    Mrs. Ida Elizabeth Greer, 81, died Friday, Oct. 26, at the Brazos Valley Hospital here.

    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday from the chapel of Scott Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Free, pastor of the United Pentecostal Church of Port Arthur, and Rev. J.N. Floyd of the United Pentecostal Church of Navasota, officiating. Interment was in the Peach Creek Cemetery in Brazos County.

    Survivors are her husband, Avery Greer of Navasota; three daughters, Mrs. Martha Landon and Mrs. Sara Hollingsworth of Pasadena and Mrs. Laura Loftin of Navasota; three sons, Wright R. Greer of San Antonio, Avery M. Greer, Jr. of Yellow Pine, Alabama and D.R. Price of Alvin; two sisters, Mrs. Ada Amerson of Bryan and Mrs. Alice Harrington of Millican; three brothers, Sam and Matt Crenshaw of Bryan and Post Crenshaw of Navasota, 34 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.
