    The funeral for Michael Durant Hunt Darby, 23, of 708 Blewer Road, Cordova, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at Cornerstone Community Church, 1481 Chestnut St., Orangeburg, with the Rev. Alan Woodward, Pastor Dustin Bates and Pastor Chris Johnson officiating. Entombment will be in the Good Shepherd Mausoleum in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, Orangeburg.

    The casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service.

    Pallbearers will be Matt Reed, Roc Jeffcoat, Jacob Creech, Henry Worthington, Corey Carson, Mark O'Cain, Dalton Sutton, Andy Chang, Josh Argoe and Dustin Fogle.

    Honorary pallbearers will be members of Good Ole' Boys and Girls Racing.

    Mr. Darby died Sunday, Dec. 16.

    He was born Nov. 24, 1989, in Orangeburg, the son of Michael Darby and Ginny Hunt Darby. He was employed with Food Lion Distribution Center. He attended Cornerstone Community Church. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Shelly Darby, Wayne Hunt Sr. and Ruby Hunt.

    Survivors include his parents, Michael Darby and Virginia Hunt Darby of Cordova; a son, Bryson Darby of Orangeburg; two brothers, Brandon Darby of Orangeburg and Darian Darby of Cordova; a sister, Janae Darby of Cordova; grandmother Frances May Darby of Cope; uncles Arthur Hunt, Jerry Hunt, Terry Hunt, Wake Hunt Jr. and Allan Hunt; aunts Tillie Hunt, Cynthia Darby, Patricia Darby, Anna Marie Hunt, Tammy Hunt and Lisa Hunt; and a number of cousins.

    The family will receive friends at the residence and Thompson Funeral Home Inc. in Orangeburg.

    Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, at the funeral home.

    CORDOVA, S.C. - Mr. Wake "Curley" Hunt, 64, of Route 1, Box 5096, died Sunday evening at Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia.

    The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gregory Keller officiating. Burial will be at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens.

    Mr. Hunt was born in North Carolina, a son of the late Arthur and Emma Oxendine Hunt. He was a retired truck driver.

    Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ruby Blaskowsky Hunt of Cordova; four daughters, Mrs. Regina Buis of Miami, Miss Matilda Hunt, Miss Virginia Hunt and Miss Anna Marie Hunt, all of Cordova; six sons, Michael Hunt of Punta Gorda, Fla., Arthur Hunt, Jerry Hunt, Terry Hunt, Wake Hunt Jr. and Allan Hunt, all of Cordova; a sister, Mrs. Mae Chavis of Lumberton, N.C.; and a granddaughter.

    Mrs. Ruby B. Hunt, 73, of 1000 Methodist Oaks Drive, Orangeburg, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg.

    A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg, with the Rev. Lawrence Cook and the Rev. Alan Woodward officiating.

    She was born May 5, 1938, in Hargil, Texas, the daughter of the late Asaph Blaskowsky and the late Virginia McIntyre Blaskowsky. She was a member of Living Vine Worship Church in Orangeburg. She was a former employee of United Technologies and Cable Craft. She was the widow of Wake Hunt Sr. and was preceded in death by a grandson, Jaylen Hunt, and two sisters, Lorraine Corser and Louise Salsman.

    Survivors include five sons, Arthur D. Hunt Sr. of Cope, Jerry F. Hunt of Azle, Texas, Terry L. Hunt (Tammy) of Branchville, Wake Hunt Jr. of Allendale and Allan P. Hunt Sr. of Cope; three daughters, Matilda "Tillie" Hunt of Cope, Ginny (Michael) Darby of Cordova and Anna Marie Hunt of Branchville; 12 grandchildren, Lauren, A.J., Terry "T.J.", Stephen, Matthew, Cody, Parker, Robbie, Brandon, Durant, Darian and Janae; two great-grandchildren, Makenzie and Noah; three sisters, Carolyn Thompson of Azle, Eleanor Koonce of Richardson, Texas, and Wanda Gilstrap of Victoria, Texas; a brother, Loyd Blaskowsky of San Angelo, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews.

    WESLACO - Asaph Blaskowsky, 68, of 802 S. Illinois died at 7 a.m. Wednesday in Knapp Methodist Hospital. He was a cabinetmaker and owner of a cabinet shop.

    A resident of Weslaco 25 years, he was a native of Fairchild, Texas.

    He was a retired minister of the Four Square Gospel Church.

    Survivors include the wife, Mrs. Virginia Blaskowsky; five daughters, Mrs. Lorraine Corser of Donna, Mrs. Louise Salsman of Pharr, Mrs. Eleanor Koonce of Portland, Mrs. Carolyn Lutman of Fort Worth and Mrs. Ruby Hunt of Orangeburg, S.C.; a son, Staff Sgt. Loyd Blaskowsky of Edwards Air Force Base, Calif.; and 25 grandchildren.

    Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Martha Childres of Raymondville; and two brothers, Andrew Blaskowsky of San Benito and Paul Blaskowsky of Jasper, Tex.

    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Four Square Gospel Church of Donna where a son-in-law, the Rev. Myron Corser, is pastor.

    Officiating at the services will be Dr. Elwood Jensen of San Antonio and the Rev. Desi Cordero of the Spanish Four Square Church in Donna.

    Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park. McCaleb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was a Rebekah Lodge member. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Asaph B., in 1977; one son, Charles Leroy B., in 1937; and a daughter, Lorraine Corser in 1989.

    Survivors: Son, Loyd Blaskowsky and daughter-in-law, June, of San Angelo; son-in-law, Myron Corser of Mississippi; daughters, Carolyn Thompson and son-in-law, K.W., of Azle, Ruby Hunt of Cordova, S.C., Louise Salsman and son-in-law, R.F., of Azle, Eleanor Koonce of Dallas; 39 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
