    Mary Jane (Powell) Andrews; 86 of Madisonville, TX; passed away at her home on Monday; July 19, 2021. Funeral services are scheduled for 11AM on Thursday; July 22, 2021, at The First Baptist Church in Madisonville, TX with Bro. Charles Higgs officiating. There will be a visitation prior to the service beginning at 10AM and the burial will follow the service at Madisonville Cemetery.

    Mary Jane was born in Madison County on October 15, 1934, to Henry and Myrtle (Andrus) Powell. She graduated from Madisonville High School, was the long-time administrator at Fair Park Nursing Center in Huntsville, and was a member of The First Baptist Church. Mary Jane loved riding horses and could mount her horse "Charlie" with no saddle and just jumped on him from behind. She rode as a part of the Madisonville Quadrill Team, she was the cowgirl sponsor from the Lions Club for the Madisonville Sidewalk Cattleman's Association, and she was also the runner-up for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo queen while in high school.

    Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents and her brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Mickey Powell.

    Mary Jane is survived by her husband, Kenneth Andrews; her children, Steve Andrews (Anita) and Gus Andrews (Annette); her grandchildren, Tracy Andrews, Clay Andrews (Amanda), Charli Andrews Jones (Jacob), Brandon Berry, Rusty Andrews (Mary), and Cassidy Andrews; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; her niece, Laura Kay Mitchell (Kyle) and their daughter, Olivia; her brothers-in-law, Joe Harold Andrews (Ann), Johnny Frossard (Dianne), and Woody Frossard (Linda); special friend, Ruby Merchant; and numerous other family members and friends.

    Serving as pallbearers are: Clay Andrews, Rusty Andrews, Tucker Blair, Sonny Dean, Ronnie Nettles, and Dave Ward. Serving as honorary pallbearers are: John Reynolds, Tye Coleman, and Cannon Coleman.

    In lieu of flowers: memorials in Mary Jane's honor may be given to The First Baptist Church (300 S Elm Street; Madisonville, TX 77864).

    Myrtle Powell
    March 14, 1905 - Aug. 10, 1996

    MADISONVILLE - Services for Myrtle Powell, 91, of Madisonville will be 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Madisonville.

    The Revs. T.R. Wagstaff, Charles Higgs and Bruce Woods will officiate. Burial will be in Willowhole Cemetery in North Zulch.

    Visiting hours will be 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday at Madisonville Funeral Home.

    Mrs. Powell died Saturday in a local nursing home.

    She was born in Madison County and was a lifelong resident. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Madisonville.

    Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jane and Kenneth Andrews of Madisonville; a daughter-in-law, Mickey Powell of Huntsville; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
