    Frances Amelia Knouse Bradley passed away in her home in Huntsville, Texas, on May 10, 2015.

    She was born on September 30, 1917, in Hemphill, Texas, to Joseph Knouse and Paulina Kezele Knouse.

    Frances attended lower school in Zwolle, Louisiana, where her father was engaged in the timber business. She attended Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans, Louisiana, for one year, and transferred to Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where she was graduated in 1939, with a Bachelor of Science Degree.

    During World War II, Frances joined the American Red Cross and lived in India, where she met her husband, Sammie David Bradley, who was serving in the United States Air Force in that country. They were married in 1945, and spent the next fifteen years at various Air Force bases in the United States and abroad.

    In 1960, after her husband retired from the military service, Frances and her family moved to Huntsville, Texas, where her husband was hired by O. B. Ellis, as Assistant Director of the Texas Department of Corrections, to establish the industrial program.

    Frances was involved for decades with the Women's Auxiliary of Huntsville Memorial Hospital, the Huntsville Garden Club, the LSU Alumni and other civic actives.

    She is preceded in death by her husband, her brothers and sister and her parents. She is survived by two sons, Jody D. Bradley, Sr. , of Woodville, Mississippi, and his wife Barbara and Jeff H. Bradley of Houston and Huntsville. She is also survived by three grandson, Jody Jr. of Arizona, Jason of Texas, and Jeremy of North Carolina.

    Friends may visit on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, from 5-8 pm at the family home.

    A funeral mass will be held at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 1323 16th Street at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, May 13, 2015, with Father Fred Valone officiating. A private interment will follow.

    Donations may be made to the Frances Knouse Bradley Memorial Window Fund at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Huntsville, Texas.

    Last rites for Mrs. Pauline K. Knouse, 66, who passed away Friday, Jan. 6 at Zwolle was conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8 at the First Baptist church Zwolle, with Elder E. H. Lehnhoff of Shreveport officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery under the direction of Warren Funeral Home.

    Surviving relatives are sons, Frank and Hermon J. Knouse, both of Zwolle; daughters, Mrs. S. D. Bradley of Victoria, Texas; Mrs. H. H. Henson of Urania, brother, Anthony E. Kezerle of Zwolle; sisters, Mrs. Sophie Ozbolt of Wisconsin, nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.
