    John K. Carr, 68, of Lakeway died January 31.

    Born in Bryan, graduate of Texas A & M University, Class of '46. Was with Sun Oil/Oryx Production in Beaumont and Dallas for 32 years. Served in the Navy in the South Pacific during the end of World War II.

    Graveside services 2:00 PM Wednesday in Bryan City Cemetery in Bryan.

    Survived by wife, Joanna Wilcox Carr of Lakeway; two sons, John Barton Carr of Austin and Larry Carr of Scottsdale, Arizona; two daughters, Debra Carr of Dallas and Ruth Wildschut of Zurich, Switzerland; mother, Mrs. Willie Mae Gouger of Bryan brother, W. Sidney Carr of Southfield, Michigan; four granddaughters.

    Graveside services for John K. Carr, 68, of Lakeway will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Bryan City Cemetery.

    Rev. Norman Irons of the First Christian Church of Bryan-College Station will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home.

    Mr. Carr died Monday morning in an Austin hospital.

    He was born in Bryan. Mr. Carr was retired from Sun Oil/Oryx Production in Beaumont and Dallas. He graduated in 1946 with a bachelors degree in accounting from Texas A&M. Mr. Carr served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

    Survivors include his wife, Joanna Wilcox Carr of Lakeway; two sons, John Barton Carr of Austin and Larry Carr of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two daughters, Debra Carr of Dallas and Ruth Wildschut of Zurich, Switzerland; his mother, Willie Mae Gouger of Bryan; his brother, W. Sidney Carr of Southfield, Mich.; and four granddaughters.

    Memorials may be made to the Seton League House, Seton Medical Center, 1201 W. 38th St., Austin, 78705.

    Our beloved Jo Anna Carr Baker, age 87, was called by our Heavenly Father on Saturday, October 22, 2016 after a lengthy struggle following a massive stroke in 2013.

    She is preceded in death by her parents, George B and Ruth R Wilcox. Jo Anna is survived by her loving husband Samuel H Baker: her children, Barton Carr, Larry Carr, Debra Carr and Ruth Carr-Wegman, numerous grand children and great grand children and her devoted dog, Winchester.

    Jana grew up in College Station and graduated from Stephens College. Jana was an avid Aggie fan, golfer, and accomplished pianist. She played the old church hymns prior to the early church service.

    Internment Service will be held at The Lakeway Church on Saturday October 29, 2016 at 10:30 am in the Garden area.

    Memorials can be made to The Lakeway Church. The Baker family would like to express their extreme gratitude to Kim, Barbara, Carrie, Sylvia and Laura; the Caregivers who took such wonderful care of her.

    John Carr Dies; Funeral Service Is Sunday Morn

    John K. Carr, age 44 years, 5 months and 7 days, died at the family home, 802 West 26th street, this morning at 11 o'clock, following a short illness.

    Funeral services will be held Sunday morning at 9 o'clock from the Hillier Funeral chapel, with Rev. James S. Butler, rector of St. Andrew's Episcopal church as officiating minister, and the American Legion in charge. Interment will be made in the family lot in Bryan city cemetery.

    John K. Carr was born in Bryan, March 28, 1898, and was a son of the late Allen Carr, and wife, Mary Parker Carr. He had lived in Bryan all his life except for several years, spent in Dallas, where he was in insurance work with one of the leading Insurance Companies of that city. He was a world war veteran.

    He is survived by two sons, John K. Carr, Jr. and Sidney Carr, both of Bryan, and one brother, Allen P. Carr also of Bryan.

    Willie Mae Gouger
    July 27, 1904 - April 30, 1995

    Graveside services for Willie Mae Gouger, 90, of Bryan will be 11 a.m. today in Bryan City Cemetery.

    Callaway-Jones Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

    Mrs. Gouger died Sunday morning in Sherwood Health Care.

    She was born in Bryan and was a lifelong resident.

    Mrs. Gouger was a retired secretary for the Texas A&M University Association of Former Students.

    She was a member of the First Christian Church of Bryan. Mrs. Gouger was preceded in death by three husbands, John Carr, Nolan Shepperd and Bryan Gouger; and two sons, John K. Carr and Sidney Carr.

    Survivors include two daughters-in-law, JoAnna Carr Baker of Lakeway and Gail Carr of Michigan; a brother-in-law and his wife, Charles and Margie Shepperd of Bryan; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

    Memorials may be made to the Association of Former Students, Willie Mae Shepperd Gouger Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 7368, College Station 77844.

    Mrs. Collard's Funeral Set For Saturday

    Mrs. Mamie Christine Collard, 75, a resident of Bryan for 55 years, died Thursday at 1:55 p.m. after a lingering illness.

    Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Callaway-Jones Funeral Home where the body will repose until time for the service.

    She was born in Normangee, Leon County, February 4, 1882 and her parents were members of a pioneer family of that county. On November 4, 1902, she was married to W. S. Collard of Bryan and they made their home here where she became affiliated with the First Christian Church. She has been a member of that church for 55 years and has been active in all plans of the church especially participating in the organized woman's work, serving as president for several terms.

    The pastor, the Rev. Roy D. Holt, will conduct the service during which Lane Lynch, soloist, will sing "Under His Wings" and "Sweet Hour of Prayer" accompanied by Mrs. Imogene Nash Robertson, organist. Interment will be in the Bryan City Cemetery with the following friends serving as pallbearers: Dr. Carl Lyman, Dr. L. O. Gibbs, O. J. Moss, George E. Adams, Tom Brady and Ken Duncan.

    Listed as honorary pall bearers are E. L. Harter, Charlie Ball, A. C. Plasek, Dr. T. T. Walton, Dr. T. O. Walton, Jr. and members of the official board and officers of the First Christian Church.

    Mrs. Collard is survived by her husband, Will S. Collard, 711 S. Baker, Bryan; one daugh-Bryan; two grandsons, John K. Bryan; tow grandsons, John K. Carr, of Beaumont, and Lt. William Sidney Carr of San Angelo; four great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Nannie Collard of Fort Worth.
