    Ernie Dwayne High, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 24, 2017 surrounded by his loving family at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, TX at the age of 53.

    A Visitation honoring Dwayne will be held 4 to 6 pm, Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, with a Memorial Tribute of his life at 5pm.

    Dwayne was born in Monahans, TX. on Sunday, February 9, 1964 to Alva Jeanette (Titsworth) High and the late Daniel Eugene High (Retired from the Odessa Police Department). Dwayne graduated from Permian High School, Class of 1983. He married the love of his life, Leah Michelle Gibson, on October 4, 1997 in Odessa, TX. They were blessed with two beautiful children, Ryan Layne High and Myka Renee High, who he was so proud of and loved to the fullest. He was a hard worker, he worked in the Transport Industry for many years in the freight business and in the oilfield. Dwayne was a very outgoing person, who had a fun loving personality, always making people laugh. He never met a stranger but met a friend everywhere he went. His family always came first to him. He would light up talking about his children. He loved visiting and talking to everyone. Such a loyal person. So many have wonderful stories of him. Never a dull moment when Dwayne was around. He could make everyone smile and laugh with his personality. He was always the life of the party. It was an honor to be loved by such an exciting, loving, and wonderful man.

    Dwayne is preceded in death by his father Daniel High and his grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Ernie Titsworth and Mr. & Mrs. Homer High.

    Dwayne is survived by his wife Leah High, son Ryan High, daughter Myka High, mother Jeanette High of Odessa,TX, brother Daniel High Jr. and his wife Cynthia of Odessa,TX, sister Kelley Alvarado and her husband Leon of Harker Heights, TX, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

    The family wishes to extend our sincere gratitude to all the staff in ICU at Medical Center Hospital and to all those who have prayed for and thought of Dwayne's family and friends during this difficult time.

    ODESSA - Daniel Eugene "Danny" High, 65, of Odessa, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at Medical Center Hospital.

    He was born September 2, 1943, in Seagraves, Texas, to Bernice Homer and Etta Mae (Bryant) High. He was a retired peace officer for Odessa. He married Alva Jeanette Titsworth on May 28, 1965, in Odessa.

    He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Homer Neal, James Donald, Teddy Dwayne and Kenneth Joel High; three sisters, Maggie Bertron, Marie Barnes and Juanita Terserek.

    He is survived by his wife, Alva Jeanette High of Odessa; sons, Dwayne High and wife Leah of Clyde, Texas, Daniel High Jr., and wife Cynthia of Odessa; daughter, Kelley Alvarado and husband Leon of Abilene; sister, EmaJon Mayfield and husband Richard of Odessa; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Also numerous nephews, nieces and friends.

    Family will receive visitors from 6 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

    Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at the Seagraves Cemetery in Seagraves with the Rev. Don Fankhauser and Ronnie Kinney officiating.

    Pallbearers will be Tony High, Rene Quiroz, Mike Stotts, Jackey Bond, Thomas Cuellar and Mark Garcia. Honorary pallbearers are Vic Cuellar, Fred Price and Harold Salmon.

    SEAGRAVES (Special) - Services for Burnis Homer High, 81, of Seagraves will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Church of Christ here with Jerald Baldwin of Seagraves officiating.

    Burial will be in Seagraves Cemetery under the direction of Connally Funeral Home of Seagraves.

    High died about 11 a.m. Tuesday at his home following a brief illness.

    In 1938 High moved from Seymour to Seagraves, where he was a clerk in a grocery store for many years. He was a veteran of World War I.

    Survivors include his wife, Etta Rachel May; four sons, Ted of Seagraves, James of Kermit, Danny of California and Homer of Denver, Colo.; four daughters, Mrs. Emajon Mayfield of Odessa, Mrs. Maggie Bertron of Longmont, Colo., Mrs. Marie Barnes of Malaysia and Mrs. Juanita Rahl of Denver, Colo.; a brother, Opis of Wichita Falls; a sister, Miss Mattie High of Seymour; 23 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

    SEAGRAVES - Services for Etta High, 87, of Seagraves are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Avenue D Church of Christ in Seagraves with the Revs. Arnold Baldwin and Gerald Baldwin officiating.

    Burial will be in Gaines County Cemetery in Seagraves under the direction of Connally Funeral Home in Seagraves.

    Mrs. High died Friday at her residence. She was born in Buffalo, Texas. She married Bernice Homer High Dec. 24, 1920, in Seymour. He died Sept. 23, 1975. Three sons also preceded her in death: Bernice Joel High, Kenneth Joe High and Teddy Dwayne High.

    Mrs. High moved to Seagraves from Seymour in 1938. She owned and operated several cafes in Seagraves. She was a charter member of the Avenue D Church of Christ.

    Survivors include three sons, Homer High of Denver; James High of Sawyer, Okla., and Danny High of Odessa; four daughters, Maggie Burton of Longmont, Colo., Marie Barnes of Odessa, Juanita Rael of Denver and Emajon Mayfield of Midland; one sister, Flora Sturgeon of Seymour; 23 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchildren.

    Connally Funeral Home of Seagraves is in charge of arrangements.
