    Tommy Johnson, 97, died on Monday, October 4, 2021.
    Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at Resthaven Cemetery in McCamey, Texas. Arrangements are under the care of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Homes of McCamey & Crane.

    Tommy spent most of his early years on the family ranch west of McCamey. He attended school in Sheffield and McCamey. He graduated from McCamey High School and attended Texas A&M for two years. He was a member of the University Mounted Cavalry and the wrestling team.

    He married Kathryn Joiner on Thanksgiving, November 25, 1948. They were faithful to each other more than 50 years. Tommy believed and obeyed God's Word. He loved the Lord's Church and was a member of the Emerson Street Church of Christ from the day he was baptized. He loved his family, the church, McCamey, Texas, ranching, storytelling, and the Aggies.

    He often expressed gratitude and appreciation to the citizens of McCamey and the doctors, nurses, certified nursing assistants of the McCamey Hospital, McCamey Convalescent Center, and Interim Hospice.

    Tommy was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn; his parents, Theodore Willis and Alma Mae Johnson; one brother, James Wesley Johnson; all his sisters and their husbands, Phyllis and BB Ingram, Yvonne and Sam Selby, Ellen and Garland Dean, Mona and Jerry Lambeth; Kathryn's sisters and their husbands, Betty and Bill Green, Bonnie and Frank Robbins; and son-in-law, Donnie Anderson.

    Tommy is survived by his children, Daughter, Cody Jane Anderson of San Angelo, TX, Sons and their spouses, James and Lucy Johnson of McCamey, TX, and Tommy and Jacque Johnson of Eastland, TX. 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

    McCAMEY - Flora Kathryn Johnson, 72, of McCamey, a former teacher, died Tuesday, July 27, 1999, at McCamey Hospital.

    Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Emerson Street Church of Christ with Doug Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in McCamey. Arrangements by Richard W. Box Funeral Homes.

    She was born in Comanche County. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

    SURVIVORS: Husband, Tommy Johnson Sr. of McCamey; daughter, Cody Anderson of Hobbs, N.M.; sons, Tommy Johnson Jr. of Andrews and James Johnson of McCamey; sister, Betty Green of Jal, N.M.; and six grandchildren.

    McCAMEY - Services for James Persieville Joiner, 79, will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Church of Christ with Burl Brockman officiating.

    Burial will follow in Resthaven Cemetery under direction of James Dennis Funeral Home.

    Mr. Joiner died Friday in McCamey Hospital.

    He was born Dec. 15, 1903, in Jackson Parish, La. and was a resident of McCamey for 21 years. He was a retired pumper for Marathon Oil and a member of the Church of Christ.

    Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Tommy Johnson and Mrs. Frank Robbins, both of McCamey, and Mrs. W.F. Green of Jal, N.M.; four sisters, Mrs. Johnnie Gray, Mrs. John T. Singleton, Mrs. Charlie Henderson and Mrs. Jack Baker, all of DeLeon; six brothers, T.D. Joiner and H.E. Joiner, both of Gorman, H.S. Joiner of Kermit, E.F. Joiner of Dublin, A.H. Joiner of Snyder and S.Y. Joiner of Sundown; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

    McCAMEY (Staff) - Mrs. Flora Ester Joiner, 57, died in Rankin Hospital about 10 a.m. Saturday after an extended illness.

    Mrs. Joiner, born July 16, 1908 in Big Spring, moved from Iraan to McCamey in 1924.

    She was married to James P. Joiner in Oakland, Tex., Dec. 23, 1924.

    Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in McCamey Church of Christ with burial in McCamey Cemetery directed by Crites Funeral Home.

    Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Tommy Johnson, and Mrs. Frank Robbins Jr., both of McCamey, Mrs. Willie F.
