    Joan (Crow) Bromelmeier, 78, died on Sunday, June 16, after a long battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in Greenway, AR to Truman and Laura (Milde) Crow. The family moved to Illinois where at 5 years old she began singing and harmonizing with her 3 year old sister LouEllen. The sisters together with their father were hired by radio station WDZ in Tescola, performing as The Crow Family. They later moved to Indianapolis, where they continued to perform live shows. The sisters added dancing to their act performing as The Crow Sisters. She graduated from the original Manual High School in Indianapolis and then attended Indiana University Bloomington receiving a Bachelor's Degree in English. There she met and later married Roy Bromelmeier. They lived in Germany and traveled throughout Europe while her husband served in the military, then settled in Fort Wayne. She eventually earned a Master's Degree in English Education from IPFW and taught in the Fort Wayne Community Schools and Indiana Tech where she was on the faculty and staff. As Students' Activities Coordinator she loved providing opportunities for students to share their talents and cultural histories in campus events. One of the greatest joys of her life was her children whom she encouraged and fully supported in all their interests and activities. She was the original editor of several organizational news letters. Her last job before retirement was as a lay minister in the Greater Fort Wayne Campus Ministry program. Throughout her life she was active with many community groups and organizations, but in retirement she especially enjoyed Fort Wayne Philharmonic Friends, her gourmet cooking club, and Bible Study Fellowship where for ten years she served as a discussion leader which was a life changing experience. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church for 35 years singing in the choir and serving in many capacities. One of her favorites was leading a small group of seniors in an exercise program. She loved the fine arts and enjoyed reading, old movies, and conversing with friends. She felt she lived a long, eventful, and blessed life. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy and her parents. She is survived by her children Lisa (Hugo), Cindy and Brad (Bettina); grandson William; sisters LouEllen Sears of Indianapolis and Helen Chmielewski of Florida, and brother Philip Crow of Florida; brother-in-law Charles (Beverly) Bromelmeier of Fort Wayne, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Thursday, June 20 at Faith Baptist Church, 6600 Trier Rd, with calling 1 hour prior. Calling also 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at D.O.     Services for Truman E. Crow, 78, Indianapolis, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Conkle Lynhurst Funeral Home with calling until 9 tonight. Crow, who died Wednesday in Methodist Hospital, was a machinist for Naval Avionics 15 years, retiring in 1968. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Burial will be in Floral Park Cemetery. Survivors - wife Pearl Brown Crow; daughters Lu Ellen Sears, Helen Chmielewski, Joan Bromelmeier; sons Phil Crow, Larry M. Sparks; sister Mary Jerke; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

    Laura Crow Motahhari, 85, died Saturday, April 27, 2002, at Forest Creek Village. She was a resident of Indianapolis.

    She was born Dec. 24, 1916, in Piggott, Ark. Her parents were William and Cora Milde. Survivors include three daughters, Joan Bromelmeier of Fort Wayne, Lou Ellen Sears of Indianapolis and Helen Chmielewski of Beech Grove; a son, Phillip Crow of St. Petersburg, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

    She was employed by L.S. Ayres for 10 years and in the hotel industry in Las Vegas as a cashier for 10 years, retiring in 1980.

    She attended Southport Presbyterian Church. She was a member of Perry Township Senior Citizens and Greenwood Senior Citizens and was a great games players.

    A service will conducted at 6 p.m. Friday at G.H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home in Indianapolis. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.

    MAGGIE MARCUM

    Maggie Marcum, daughter of Moss and Clara Marcum was born in 1887 and departed this life November 23, 1951 at the age of 74 years, 11 months and 23 days.

    She professed faith in Christ and has been a faithful member of the Church of Christ. She was united in marriage to James Oliver Stevens in 1897 and to this union 2 children were born. Her husband and both children preceded her in death.

    She was united in marriage again in 1906 to John Housten Crow and to this union 4 children were born. Mr. Crow and 2 children preceded her in death. She had lived in Greenway most of her life but moved to Piggott a short time ago.

    She leaves to morn her death 4 children, Mrs. Graydon Hatch of Pontiach, Mich., John Crow of Monticello, Ark.

    Mrs. Lena Gattis of Nimmons, Ark., Mrs. Truman Crow of Indianapolis, Ind. One brother John Marcum, Columbs, Ga.; 22 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

    Funeral services were conducted by Bro. V.P. Wright assisted by Bro. H. D. Hooker, Sunday, November 25, 1951, at the Greenway Church of Christ. Burial was in Mitchell Cemetery with Russell Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
