    David Burnett, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2023, in De Soto, MO. Born on April 22, 1942, in Vandalia, MO, David lived a life filled with love and kindness. David had worked at K-V Pharmaceutical for 30 years.

    David was a man of simple pleasures. He found joy in tending to his gardens, canning fruits and vegetables, and creating beautiful landscapes. He had a deep appreciation for nature and could often be found birdwatching or enjoying a peaceful fishing trip. David's compassionate nature extended beyond his love for animals and the environment--he was known for his generosity and caring demeanor towards his family, friends, and community and especially the Hillsboro Food Pantry.

    David is survived by his loving wife Vonna Burnett (nee Darnell), whom he shared many cherished memories with. Together they raised a beautiful family who brought them immense happiness. His children Jane Burnett, David Burnett, Tracy Burnett, James Burnett, Laura Woodruff, Tim Woodruff, Christopher Belken, and Carla Holland will forever remember the love and guidance he provided. Additionally, he is survived by sisters, Mary Orr, Kay Jones and brother Gary Burnett. David leaves behind his 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy.

    David was preceded in death by a wife Melba Jean Burnett, his father David Burnett, mother Lois Burnett, brothers Jimmy Burnett and Jan Ray Burnett, sisters Patsy Morrison and Davelene Reichenburg. Although he is no longer with us physically, his memory will live on through the countless lives he impacted.

    To honor David's life and celebrate the legacy he leaves behind, a visitation will be held on August 6, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Robert D. Brown Funeral Home Inc. located at 103 4th St., Hillsboro MO 63050. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m at the same location.

    On August 7, 2023, at 12:00 p.m., David will be laid to rest in the Troy City Cemetery located in Troy, MO.

    David was a remarkable man whose unwavering love and caring nature touched so many lives. His legacy of compassion, generosity, and appreciation for life will forever inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory continue to bring comfort and joy to all those who mourn his loss.

    Edna E. Crowe, 72, of De Soto, died March 24, 2000, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Crystal City.

    Mrs. Crowe was a homemaker.

    The funeral service was March 27 at Dietrich-Mothershead Chapel in De Soto with burial in Valhalla Cemetery in Pagedale.

    Among survivors are two sisters, Enia Faye Scheffler of De Soto and Margaret Henson of Perry, Ga.; three brothers, Charles Harris of Lake Saint Louis, Carl Dean Harris of De Soto and William Harris of Canalou, Mo.; and one grandchild.

    James Oliver Crow, born November 27, 1889 in Texas, departed this life on January 31, 1951 at his home in Canalou, Mo., at the age of 61 years, 2 months, and 4 days. He came to this county when he was small.

    He was married to Bessie Marcella Rogers about 1912. To this union three children were born. Two died as babies, the other, William Archie, now resides in Detroit, Mich.

    Mrs. Crow passed away in 1917.

    He was married to Este Ann Frazier December 6, 1922. To this union two sons were born, J. T. and Donald, both now residing in Piggott. Mrs. Crow preceded her husband in death October 6, 1929.

    Mr. Crow also leaves one step-daughter, Mrs. Archie Davis of Benton Harbor, Mich.; one step-son, Orval Jones of Lilbourn, Mo.; four granddaughters, Barbara, Dorothy, and Judy Crow of Detroit and Jean Crow of Piggott; one grandson, Donnie Crow of Piggott; one sister Mrs. Lena Gaddis of Nimmons; two half brothers Truman Crow of Evansville, Ind., and John Henry Crow of Selmer, Ark.; one half-sister Mary Beard of St. Louis; and a step-mother, Mrs. Maggie Crow of Piggott; seven step grandchildren Mrs. Lee Ray Harwood of Wyandotte, Mich., Bobby and Charles Davis of Benton Harbor, Alva Jones of St. Louis, Arlynn, Freda, and Reba Jones of Lilbourn, Mo., and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

    Funeral services were conducted by Bro. H. D. Hooker. Friday, February 2, 1951, at the Piggott Church of Christ. Burial was in the Piggott Cemetery with Russell Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
