    KELSO - Funeral mass for Anton W. Niederkorn of Kelso will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Rev. Raymond Orr will officiate, with burial in St. Augustine Cemetery.

    Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Scott City after 4 p.m. Saturday. The rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, with Knights of Columbus service at 8.

    Niederkorn, 77 years old, died today, Nov. 21, 1986, at St. Francis Medical Center.

    He was born Jan. 15, 1909, in Jonesboro, Ark., son of William and Emma Strack Niederkorn. He and the former Helen Bernice Vaughn were married May 18, 1935. Niederkorn was a retired fireman with Western Electric Co. He was a member of St. Augustine Church, and KC Council 1111 in Cape Girardeau.

    Survivors include his wife; two sons, Richard Niederkorn of Belleville, Ill., David Niederkorn of Minneapolis, Minn.; five daughters, Mrs. Donald Arient, Mrs. Ken Willas, Mrs. Donna Ricordati, Theresa Niederkorn and Mrs. Kathleen Spencer, all of Chicago; five brothers, Robert Niederkorn of Paragould, Ark., Henry Niederkorn of New Hamburg, Benjamin Niederkorn of Wichita Falls, Tex., Otto Niederkorn of State of Oklahoma, Wilbur Niederkorn of Chicago; a sister, Mrs. Josephine Thompson of Benton; 25 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

    He was preceded ind eath by two sons, a daughter, two sisters and a brother.

    Anton married Helen Bernice Vaughn 18 May 1935, Cape Girardeau, Cape Girardeau County, Missouri, USA.     ROSELLE, ILL.-Helen Bernice Niederkorn, 83, formerly of Kelso, Mo., died at 7:25 p.m. March 28, 2000, at Alexian Brother Hospital Hospice House in Elk Grove Village.

    Born Sept 18, 1916, in Oran, Mo. daughter of the late Robert and Verna Crown Vaughn, she was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso.

    On May 18, 1935, in Cape Girardeau, Mo., she married Anton William Niederkorn who preceded her in death on Nov. 21, 1986.

    Survivors include: two sons, Richard Niederkorn of Bellevile, Ill., and David Niederkorn of Jordan, Minn; five daughters, Betty Arient of Roselle, Janet Wilas of Dunedin, Fla., Donna Ricordati of McHenry, Theresa Badalof of Chicago and Kathleen Spencer of Orando, Fla. three brothers, James Vaughn of Peoria, Billie Vaughn of Florissant, MO. and Paul "Jack" Killam of New Market Iowa; two sisters, Marie Ollis of Crestwood, Ill., and Ruth Eaton of Jackson, Mo., and 27 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

    Two sons, on daughter, three brothers and six sisters also preceded her in death.

    Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City, Mo. where Parish Prayers are scheduled for 6:30 p.m

    A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church with the Rev. Oliver Clavin officiating.

    Burial will follow in the St. Augustine Cemetery at Kelso.

    Robert N. Vaughn, age 65, died at St. Mary's Hospital Tuesday at 10:45 p. m. after an extended illness. His home was at 201 Elmwood Place. Mr. Vaughn had been a resident of Cairo for the past 17 years.

    He was born February 11, 1887 at Vienna and was married to Verna I. Crow, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Crow of Holcomb, Mo., on August 14, 1910. To this union, 15 children were born, 12 of whom are surviving.

    For many years, Mr. Vaughn was engaged in the insurance business in Dunklin County, Mo. Four years prior to his retirement, he was an employe of Federal Barge Line.

    Survivors include his wife, Verna; six daughters, Helen Niederkorn of Chicago, Virginia Moore of Wayne, Mich., Marie O'Shea of Lockport, Ill., Joan Thompson of St. Louis, Catherine Sapien of St. Louis, Ruth Vaughn of Chicago; six sons, Maj. Paul B. Vaughn of Pope Air Force Base, Ft. Bragg, N.C., Robert A. Vaughn of Kansas City, Mo., Billy G. and Carl B. Vaughn both of Cairo, Jimmy E. Vaughn of Metropolis and Jack A. Vaughn of Hopkins, Mo.; 24 grandchildren; his father, Marion F. Vaughn of Kennett, Mo.; several half-sisters and half-brothers and other relatives.

    The body is at Karcher Brothers Funeral Home where friends may call.

    Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Thursday at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Joe Caldwell officiating.

    Interment will be made in Thistlewood Cemetery.

    Verna I. Vaughn, nee Crow, 94, of Belleville, died Tuesday, October 8, 1985 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville.

    Preceding her in death were her husband, Robert Vaughn, three daughters; a son; her parents; two sisters and a brother.

    Surviving are six sons, Paul B. Vaughn and Carl Vaughn, both of Belleville, Robert A. Vaughn of Boulder, CO, Billie Vaughn of Peoria, IL, Jimmie Vaughn of St. Louis, MO and Paul E. Killam of New Market, IA; five daughters, Helen Niederkorn of Scott City, MO, Virginia Moore of Wayne, MI, Marie Ollis of Crest Hill, IL, Joan Reese of Peoria, IL and Ruth Eaton of Grassy, MO; 49 grandchildren; 62 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, at the George Renner and Sons Funeral Home in Belleville with Rev. Mansfield Hunt officiating. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery in Mounds, IL.
