    • Obituary:

      Services for George Edwin Erath, 80, of Spur, were at the Highway 70 Church of Christ at 2:30 p.m. Ernie Bishop, church minister, officiated. Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery with Campbell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

      Mr. Erath died Sunday, September 11, 1994 at Methodist Hospital, Lubbock, following a brief illness. He was born in Dickens County October 7, 1913 and had lived here most of his life. He married Gracie Patterson in Spur on March 9, 1938 and she survives him.

      Mr. Erath was a farmer and a member of the Steel Hill Church of Christ. He was a Mason. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Jessie "Bitsy" Erath on July 23, 1994.

      Other survivors include a daughter, Linda Jackson, Lubbock; two grandchildren, Shari and Pat Murchison, Lubbock and Denise and Lee Schilling, Dimmitt; two great grandchildren, Jesica Murchison and Magen Murchison, both of Lubbock.

      Pallbearers included Jackie Young, Clomer Randall, Dwight Dillashaw, Robert Hahn, Mutt Hagins and Danny Randall.
