  Obituary: Services for James Milton "Mickey" Thornton, 67, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Sunset Church of Christ with Gary Walker and Lee Towns officiating. Burial will be in the City of Lubbock Cemetery under direction of Sanders Funeral Home. Thornton died Monday, Feb. 16, 1998, at his residence. He was born June 26, 1930, in Crosby County. He attended school in Owens, Idalou, Roosevelt and Lubbock. He moved to Lubbock in 1940. He was a U.S. veteran of World War II. He married Janice Lee Donald on April 7, 1950, in Lubbock. He was a charter member of Sunset Church of Christ. He worked in the construction business. He owned Mickey's Concrete, and he worked for the City of Lubbock. He retired from Bruce Thornton Air Conditioning Inc. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bruce and Jimmy, both of Lubbock; a daughter, Patsy Williams of Lubbock; three brothers, Elvis of Lubbock, Glenn of Buena Vista, Colo., and Darwin of Denver; and seven grandchildren.
