Final Rites Set Sunday
Final rites will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home chapel for David Lee Sims, 88, 2766 East 21st St. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, with Rev. S. C. Strickland officiating.
He died Thursday in Hogan-Malone Hospital in Big Spring after a two-week illness.
Born June 4, 1881, in Jackson Parish, La., he came to Odessa in 1924 from Houston. He married Virgie Carwile on July 3, 1939, in Lovington, N.M. He was a charter member of the Asbury United Methodist Church and had been a member of the 100F Lodge for 29 years.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Harold of Columbia, S. C., LeRoy of Farmington, N. M., and Joe of Newport News, Va.; a daughter, Miss Bobby Sims, 410 North Jackson and two sisters, Mrs. Sally Walker and Mrs. Mae Mobley, both of Jonesboro, La.
