Notes - Obituary:
Elmer Roy Petty, 87, was called home by the Lord Friday, April 10, 2009.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brown Trail Church of Christ. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.
Roy was born in Oklahoma and proudly served our country in the infantry during World War II, with honors, earning a Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars. He married the love of his life, Dolores Brothers, on June 25, 1949, in Seymour. They were blessed with their two sons, Randy and Danny.
Roy lived his life with utmost integrity and respect for his Lord, his family and all people. He was a member of Brown Trail Church of Christ for 32 years.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Alvis, Jack, Cleo and Ben Petty.
Survivors: Wife, Dolores Petty; sons, Randy Petty and Rosie Villarreal, Danny Petty; daughters-in-law, Ann Thomas and Terri Pruitt; grandchildren, Amber Cummings, Rodney Sutton, Danna and James Buck, Danul and Amanda Petty, David Reyes and Lina Reyes; great-grandchildren, Sierra Hensley, James Buck, Coal Petty; brother, Truman Petty; sister, Ada Lee; brother-in-law, Royce and Marie Brothers.
