    • Obituary:

      Neoma Laughlin Carwile passed away on Monday, July 4, 2005 at Air Force Village II Health Care Center.

      She was born on June 13, 1920 in Red River, OK to Andrew Law Laughlin and Hattie Myrtle Austin. She graduated as a registered nurse from St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo, TX in 1940. She had various nursing positions around Texas, but her most memorable job was the only public health nurse in El Paso, TX. During that time she met Ernest Dean Carwile and married him in Midland, TX on September 20, 1942. They were married 63 years. She joyfully moved all over the country and wourld with her husband. She loved being an Air Force wife and happily entertained their many friends in their many homes.

      Col. and Mrs. Carwile moved to Air Force Village II in December, 1989. This was truly Eden. She planned to live here and for them to safely go home to the Lord in this wonderful place.

      She is survived by her beloved husband, Ernest Dean Carwile; daughters, Constance S. Wyckoff and husband Peter B., Glen Rose, TX, Cynthia L. Seidensticker and husband, John D., League City, TX; son, Ernest D. Carwile, Jr. and wiffe, Mary, Denver, CO and Carla Carwile, Denver CO; four grandchildren, Kelly S. Taylor, Livingston, TX, Britney Pletz, Jefferson City, MO and Kate Carwile, Denver, CO; sister, Lois West, Tyler, TX; brother, Jerry Laughlin and wife, Eve, Odyssa, TX; nieces and nephews, Karen Herrmann and husband, Ronald, San Antonio, TX, Martha Caldwell, Tyler, TX, Jay Heizer and wife, Kay, Seguin, TX, Sherrie Sewell and husband, Patrick, Shreveport, LA, Johnny Walters and wife, Dianne, Belmont, TX, Zondra Gunnik and husband, Wally, Coon Rapids, MN, Jacie Stevenson, Minneapolis, MN, Ruth Calvert, California and Barbara Klinger, Las Vegas, NV; cousins, Bettye Gorman, Mary Frances Rudloff, Nancy Below and husband, Max, Buddy Fewell and wife, Billye, Dane Rudoff and wife, Maxine. Mrs. Carwile was preceded in death by sisters, Doris Heizer, Varnell Laughlin and Mildred Laughlin. She was blessed with many wonderful friends that she will see agan in heaven.

      Memorial Service will be held
      Thursday, July 7, 2005 at
      AFV II High Flight Chapel at 10:00 a.m.

      A reception will follow the Memorial Service in CC 2

      Graveside Service will be held Monday, July 11, 2005 11:00 a.m. Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery

      The family would like to thank the Health Care Center and its wonderful staff and all personnel for the loving care given to her prior to and after her death.
