Geneva Muery Stafford went to her forever home on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the age of 96. Geneva was born October 11, 1928, in Bellville, Texas to Hugo and Ida Muery. She grew up in Bellville and was a longtime resident of La Marque, Texas.
Geneva moved to La Marque in 1955 where she raised her 4 children. She was very involved with her children, going to countless baseball, softball, football games, and band concerts. She continued to attend La Marque and Texas City football games long after we had all graduated. She was a Girl Scout Leader where she spent much time with camping and hiking on many assorted trips. Including a trip to the Grand Canyon. She was very involved at the First United Methodist Church where she volunteered for church socials, fundraisers, and vacation bible school. As the children grew older, she began working as a nutritionist at the local high school and then moved on as a nutritionist at a local Nursing Home for many years.
She was an avid baseball fan who loved her Astros and Rangers. She played basketball and softball in school. She enjoyed reading, camping, fishing, and watching Hallmark Movies. She loved her family dearly and would travel to visit all of her assorted children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Geneva was a great cook and loved playing dominoes and cards. With Canasta being one of her favorites.
