- Obituary:
Longtime Seward resident Eddie Mae Wilson, 70, died Nov. 17, 2005, at the Providence Medical Center in Seward. No memorial services were planned.
Mrs. Wilson was born March 26, 1935, in Midland, Texas. She met Robert "Bob" Wilson and they were married April 14, 1970, in Kenai. In 1972, they moved to Seward. She had also lived in Seldovia and Anchorage. Mrs. Wilson retired from Bob's Market in 2000. She was a member of the Pioneers of Alaska. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, knitting, crocheting and coin collecting. She loved animals and bird viewing. The family wrote: " Eddie was known as 'Grandma Eddie .' She thought the world of her family and grandchildren. She was one amazing, wonderful and loving person. Eddie seemed to always put others before herself."
Mrs. Wilson is survived by her husband of 35 years, Robert Wilson of Seward; daughter, Roberta Ryder of Kasilof; son, Randall Wilson of Anchorage; grandchildren, JoeAnna Hoogland of Anchorage, Serena Hoogland of Seward, Angela Perry of Anchorage, Jennifer Perry of Seward and Ashton Wilson of California; great-grandchild, Jackson Perry of Anchorage; brother, Douglas Hamlin of Texas; and many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you give a helping hand to a neighbor. Arrangements are with Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
